Your Welcome, I have had the book for a few weeks and really need to get started with reading it.
Good luck and best wishes on your journey and look forward in hearing about your accomplishments.

Thanks for the info-- I did buy the book, and I've just gotten started with it. I haven't done the Calorie Counter yet-- there's so much on the site, I think it's going to take some time to get through it all.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I am also fairly new to the team and the Spark People Site. The first thing I did was start with the Calorie Counter and I recorded all the foods I ate. I was amazed how I ate a lot of Fats and Calories and not enough Carbs. After I saw how high I was, I made my New Year's Resolution to start following the Spark Plan and it's wonderful. I was able to print out a grocery list and had my meal plan calculated for me. All of this can be found under My Tools- My Nutrition. It takes time to navigate and I'm still learning myself. I also use the fitness tracker and added weight training to my weekly training. I'm an aging runner who started 20 years ago at the age of 35 and my friends and I hope to keep on running, even if we end up with walkers running down Bayshore.
Also, by joining teams that interest you, is the greatest way to knowledge and learning from other Sparkers. Team support is the way to go. I also bought the Book, but have not had a chance to read it yet. I am here in Raleigh taking care of my mother who is diabetic and suffered some strokes, so my time is full. Take care and hope some of these tips help. Definitely check in with the team leaders and sign up for some of the discussions, knowledge is power.

Best of luck to you in reaching your goals.

Hi-- I'm starting this, with no idea, really, of what I'm doing. But maybe if I make the leap, things will fall in place.
