My Memories are of being at my Grandmothers house in Detroit for a big Family dinner and how all the Men would be watching the Detroit Tiger game on TV....There would always be one of them jumping up or shouting..... The room would always be thick with Cigarette smoke, like a cloud hanging over the room.. LOL.

I remember with me it was my grandparents, my mom's parents, and Ernie Harwell on the radio when I was young. My grandad always had his Tigers ball cap.

I started listening to the games every day in 2004, as a way, sort of, to become closer to my aging grandmother. I started to go to Comerica at least once a year in 2004-2013. I brought my grandmother give-away stuff and programs and yearbooks, even stadium napkins printed with the Tigers logo. We shared the Tigers in common until she passed. I remember the last time I saw her we were watching the Tigers play in her hospital room.

I have learned that if I tilt my head just right and squint, the world outside is beautiful. The future is bright. There are good things to come.” -- Hugh Howey, Dust

Sitting in the garage with the garage door open on a lovely day/night with Dad listening to Ernie Harwell call the game.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Has anyone else gotten stuck in an obstructed view seat at Tiger Stadium?

I have so many. I think the best would be sitting in the garage with the door open when it was raining listening to Ernie Harwell on the radio. I loved that voice! When he passed, I was already in Alabama so I couldn't get to Comerica. But I cried when I saw video of him laid out at Comerica with a Tiger hat on and the people were lined up to pay respects all around the park.

Remember when the glasses come up missing on his statue?

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.
