Glad you've found SP, Jennifer. You seem to be making all the right moves at this stage - tracking food, doing your own food preparation and getting going with exercise. Living in Scottsdale, we really don't have any excuse not to get moving - in the summer it's swimming and other water activities and the rest of the year getting out on all the great walking and hiking paths. Keep us updated on your progress!

Hi Jessie, I just joined this group myself, plateaus are tough. Keep doing the right things, and your body will break through.

Sounds like there are some great places to meet up with others to get in some exercise. Thats a great tool! This year has been my year to focus on myself again and not so much focus on work.

I hope to get my scale moving in the right direction again and I think with support such as this site and logging everything again I will get there.

Hi Jessie! Two of us meet just about every Sunday at Chaparral Park - at the map by the parking lot just north of the lake. We meet at 9 a.m. and usually go on the 1.5 mile loop. If you're interested, just show up there.

Hi Carol,
I would love to join you guys for a hike once the weather cools off at least a little, but I'm game for a walk on the greenbelt, so I'll keep an eye for any announcements.

It sounds like you're well on your way to weight loss and health goals - glad you've found SparkPeople to help you get past this plateau (I've been held up by plenty of them). The nutrition and exercise trackers have helped me immensely as have the people on my teams who have been there with advice and encouragement when I've needed it most. Some of us in Scottsdale have gotten together for hiking in the mountain preserve and walking in the parks along the greenbelt - if you feel like joining in, just post and we'll work out our schedules.

Hi everyone,
my name is Jessie and have been at Sparkpeople for 6 weeks, so I thought it was about time I introduced myself.
I'm 36 and have been getting back to exercising slowly but surely since last year. I managed to lose some weight (about 50 pounds) but hit a plateau in January and has had a hard time moving past it. I was looking for help and that's how I found this website and I love it!
