Welcome aboard Jenny, glad to have you on our team.
Where to start is a good question. As if I have to tell you, SparkPeople offers a ton of things that can help you. My first suggestion is to become acquainted with all of the things that are offered. Just browse and see what is there. If you get interested in something stop and read it.

The daily Start gets you going. Spin the dial for some fun, then fill in the charts for your meals, exercise routine and the weigh in. Read the materials and articles to help you understand how weight affects us physically and emotionally.

Start small on your exercise plan. Remember to make a new habit you must do it for 21 days straight--no excuses. So find your comfort zone and do it for 21 days straight. I started by riding a stationary bike for 15 minutes a day, and it was a challenge for me. Now I can ride for 60 minutes. I did over 600 miles for April. It did not happen suddenly, it was one step at a time.

The other Team member is Andrea and she would be more than will to help you along, as well.
So, Welcome to Gilbert Sparks and should you have any questions feel free to ask.

Team Leader-Adam

Heyy there everyone! :] My name is Jennifer and I am new to this site. Just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there with any suggestions on where to start?

I weight 345 pounds and am 5'11". I have had no problem eating healthy food and actually I enjoy it more. But even when I do eat very healthy, I don't seem to lose that much weight and then just gain it back because I get discouraged. I have never been one to even eat fast food or junk food. Which is why I don't know why my weight has gotten so high. I've had my levels and hormones checked and everything is fine. Probably just portion sizes is my guess. It just added up. I've heard that even eating pretty healthy is not enough sometimes and that I need to do a lot of exercise? Exercise is what kills me though.. I just can't seem to find the motivation to get out and do it. I even bought workout tapes (Power90, Turbo Jam, etc..) and they work well when I do them, but can't seem to stick to them. But I am definitely going to try again and I am NOT going to fail this time. Hopefully. :]

Anyways, I just wanted to say to everyone out there and would love to talk to you! :]
Feel free to message me and say hello or if you have any tips to share that would be great. I'm still trying to find my way around this site. Or if you're looking for a workout buddy then let me know too. I could sure use one!

Thanks a bunch!
