Seven days in from this post, how are you going? Getting to 250 seems like a big ask on the face of it, but doing the math it isn't that hard, but it's still going to be a long slog! I started the year on 330, and while I don't have an end of year goal at the moment, I tend to break it up to 5 or 10kg mini goals. But 250lb by the end of the year sounds great.

What are your plans in achieving this? It seems there are a few of us in the group with gym memberships (which I think is great), have you one, or are you going to start off with workouts around the home and strategic eating? Remember to not try change everything at once, piece by piece will ensure you are more likely to succeed :)

Hi all! I'm new to the SparkPeople forums, and thought I'd introduce myself to a team I joined a few years ago but never did anything with it. I joined SparkPeople a few years ago and had a little success with it (Lost 20 lbs but then gained it back plus). I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been (currently 356) and WILL NOT gain anymore weight.

I have a wonderful and supportive husband and a beautiful 5 yr old daughter at home that I feel I'm missing out on portions of her childhood because I'm unable to get on the floor and romp with her.

I know I'm an emotional eater, and having all this extra unneeded and unwanted weight depresses me. So what do I do? Head to the fridge. Never Again! I've been overweight my entire life, and I grew up with overweight parents. My father had a heart attack in Dec. It was then and there that I decided I will FINALLY lose this weight, and KEEP IT OFF! I decided to give myself a year. I have one year to lose some (not all) of the weight and keep it off or I'm looking into weight loss surgery.

I'm hoping that the support and motivation I can find here in this team will help me push through that emotional eating, and motivate me to become more active. I've set an overall goal of 180. But I want to get to 250 by the end of the year. I can do this and I will do this, but I know I'll need the help and motivation from everyone to stick to it!

I'm looking forward to making new friends and meeting all my goals this year.
