I think what you're doing is good - starting out slow and breaking things down. Each time just try a little'll be surprised how quickly your body starts to adapt and how you can go longer and harder..just don't push it too soon and don't be afraid to slow down if you need to. I have exercise induced asthma and as I get more fit, it doesn't act up as much!

Hi everyone, my name is Liz. I've actually been using this website for a while now, but within the last few weeks I've really decided to buckle down.

Actually, this is kind of an understatement. My real start point was actually in February. Like most people around here, I have some weight I need to lose. I've been overweight most my life, and nothing has really worked. I joined myfitnesspal in February hoping to get some results, but have been a bit dissapointed. Since February I've only lost about 10 pounds. I know I should be thrilled with any sort of loss, but I just can't help feeling that I should've been losing more.

Over the last couple months I've been fairly good about watching my calories and what I eat. I also tried to get in a decent amount of excercise as well. Maybe I wasn't doing enough, and maybe what I was eating wasn't as good as I thought. Who knows.
Point being, I decided to rework my whole plan by joining sparkpeople. It's going really slow I must say, but I'm hoping that I'll finally start seeing some actualy results. If I don't.. Well. I don't know, I'll probably be coming to you all for advice.

At the moment, I'm stuck at 300, hoping that the scale will start to move again. I would love to be between 250-240 by the middle of November, but we'll have to see how well that goes. Mostly though, apart from needing to do this for myself, I want to be a healthy size and weight for June 2011. My cousin whom I'm best friends with, is getting married and I refuse to be the chubby bridesmaid and ruin her wedding photos. I know that if she were to get married tommorow she wouldn't have any problem with how I looked in photos, but I would. I've already been to one wedding where I was the fat girl, and it was utterly humiliating.

Anyway, pointers would be welcome. At the moment I'm trying to get 30 minutes of cardio atleast 3 times a week, and about 10 on the between days. I usually split it up in 15 minute increments because I've got asthma and it's hard to go for very long right now, which will hopefully change soon as well.
