emoticon HOSACK9900, "CHAR", LOVE_ART!

Char - nice to meet BIGGUY's wife. He speaks very highly of you! That's interesting that you had already 'crossed paths' numerous times. It's funny how life works sometimes.

LOVE_ART - a snowstorm? That's a new one for me! I'm glad that the matchmaking worked out. Sometimes that goes badly. I'm glad it didn't for you two!

HOSACK9900 - first post for you! I hope you make many more here on sparkpeople! Often we find our soulmates among our family's and friends' acquaintances or friends. My now dh was my roommate's date in university!

My cousin was engaged to my husband's best friend. While they were planning their wedding, we were asked to be the maid of honor and best man. We started "talking" just a couple of days before the wedding and the rest is history.....1 year later we got married and my cousin and his best friend returned the favor of being our matron of honor and best man.

I'm the "Char" that BIGGuy41 met online and eventually at Starbucks. I too have never been happier in my life.

The interesting thing is that when we began talking about our past, we discovered that our paths had crossed numerous times before we actually got together. It's a small world for sure!

Love you BIGGUY41!

a snowstorm!!
he was visiting someone he was interested in another state. afraid he would be stuck there, because of a huge snowstorm he left a day early and decided to visit a distant relative of his for a day. that relative of his was my mom's friend. my mom's friend had her eye on him and said he would be perfect for me, but he lived on the opposite coast from me! so, that day he went to visit her, she called my mom and they quickly made up a story for me to show up. i had no idea any of this, so i went. the matchmaking scheme the old ladies were up to worked! that was 10 years ago! we have 2 sons.

Art is not what we reproduce, it is what makes us see.

I met my husband (Max) at a party, we had an immediate attraction to each other but lived over 5 hrs away. I found out I was pregnant and found out he was still in school. I left him alone to give him a chance to be more than a teen dad. 5 years later fate brought us back together when my best friend asked me to look at pictures of a guy she met online. I saw Max in this guys pictures, it turns out they were barracks roommates halfway around the world in Okinawa. We chatted online that night and I told him about our son and how I never forgot him. He flew home 3 weeks later and we got married in Vegas. We have had 3 more sons together and just celebrated 6 years together. I am grateful for him everyday of our lives together.

Congratulations! I think we will hear of more and more connections through the internet as time goes on. So much better than a bar or the singles scene, in my opinion! (although I realize that some great matches sometimes happen in those places as well).

I met my lovely wife via the internet. We had both been members of a dating website for several months. After meeting some nice people but not finding that "connection" we were both ready to give up.

The night I signed on to delete my account, I saw that Char had sent me a "smile". After some deliberation I decided to contact her. It took us 3 weeks to finally meet face-to-face and the rest is history.

It is a match made in Starbucks. Ha! Ha!

We were married in February 2009 and have 5 kids between us. Her children (boy, girl, boy) are 20, 18 and 15. My two boys are 11 and 8.

I have never been happier.

my husband and i worked together on our university's grounds crew. i was lead student and he'd never worked outside before ... so he thought i was bossy and i thought he was dumb, haha! but we fell in love and were married 3 years ago this month. we have a beautiful 10 month old son.

I lost 78 pounds with SparkPeople and I've gained most of it back because I didn't make a PERMANENT lifestyle change; I'm back because I know the support here is an essential component to success. I'm practicing the EAT TO LIVE lifestyle and feeling healthier and happier every single day.

Hi everyone!

I met my husband when we were freshmen assigned to live in the same dorm. We were friends for six years before he finally asked me out. Turns out he had a crush on me the whole time.

We don't have any kids, but we do have one little doggy. He's good enough for now.

My husband and I met while we were living in England. He was a Captain in the US Air Force and I was married to another US Air Force person. I was the director of a suicide hotline at the time and he was a volunteer during his off duty hours.

Ten years later my 21 year marriage to my ex came to an abrupt halt one night. I had 4 teenagers at the time and needed to make some tough decisions that would affect the rest of my kids lives.

I needed to speak to someone that had training in handling a crisis and could help me at 12:30 at night. I didn't want to call anyone that was married and chance disturbing a whole family so I looked up his number and called him because I would only be disturbing one person.

Two years later he and I were married and the kids and I moved from the DC area to Massachusetts. The kids lives turned out better then ever and so did ours. We have been happily married for 13 1/2 years. We have 2 grandchildren that we adore.

My Husband showed up on my doorstep one night 20 1/2 years ago. My 2 roommates and I hosted a bible study group weekly and one of our attendees invited my dh. He was the first to arrive that evening, I opened the door and immediately felt that I'd known him my whole life. Over the next nine months, we became best friends and fell in love. We met in March and the night before New Years eve (a total shock to him), he proposed to me. We were married 17 months later and now have 3 beautiful children.

My husband and I also meet at church in Haiti, we both were in the band (he played the bass and I sang). I made the first move, because he was too shy. He hardly spoke English, but when he got the message that I liked him, he wrote me a letter. It started like this " Dear My Chick!" It was so cute. We got married 2 years later and have two beautiful kids. My daughter is 6 and my son is 2.

My hubby and I met at a church institute in Flagstaff,AZ. It's a place our church has by different universities for the students to hang out. He had just returned from a 2 year mission and was playing volleyball. I was invited to a house warming party he was having at his new apartment by a friend of mine. Then on Halloween a bunch of us decided to be goofy and go trick or treating - yes we were 18 - 21 year olds. He decided he wanted to come also, but didn't have a costume - or a car. He asked me for a ride - and it has been a wonderful ride since then. We were engaged on December 7 and married May 15. We've been married for 18 years now. I couldn't have asked for better and definitely feel like I got more than I deserved. He's my best friend and makes life amazing for me. We have 4 beautiful kiddos. DD- 17, DS- 15, DS - 11 and DS - 7.

Yep. You never know when an initial dislike will turn to love! But, I have heard that dislike or hate is not the opposite of love - disinterest or apathy is, so there you go. Perhaps he was in denial or something and didn't dislike you that much!

And wow. That is older than the norm, isn't it? Congrats on the daughter!

We met at a bar through a mutual friend, his sister says he loved me from almost first sight. He was a nice guy, so I liked being around him, but if you would have told me we would be madly in love today...I'd of laughed.
For me it was the fact we became friends first, and had a lot in common, and he grew on me, he was not like any other guy I had ever dated, he made me fall in love with him.
4 kids, my 2 girls are from a previous marriage, and our 2 boys, his only children, but he has raised the girls as his own.

That's a great idea. I find walking to be such a great exercise. I get away from it for a while, and then I 'remember'. It always seems to rev up my weight loss again.

Last week, I was taken up with the Parish bazaar and teaching and I feel as if I've been away for simply ages. The only exercise I managed was unpacking and re-packing boxes, walking around the Church Hall and trying not to get too tired. By yesterday my legs were really hurting, but I managed to get out and do some shopping and go the City with my friend this morning. I will be off on holiday on Saturday and my dh and I have promised each other that we will find time to go for walks.

Rest is important too!

Did I enjoy it? I think I did. It was exhilarating. I had to push myself with the 2 minutes of running, but who said pushing yourself was a bad thing, right?

My legs are sore today. I am wondering if they will be too stiff for my second day of training tomorrow?

Met my DH at work when I was working in a hardware store and he was interested in me and kind of let me know by coming in and buying one item at a time, you know like a flash light and then another time batteries to go in it, etc. Dated 3 years and then married so been together 34! Love the married life!!!

All the way since 6th grade, huh? My younger dd is in 6th. I wonder if she knows any young men now that will become her dh?

What if we woke up tomorrow with only those things that we thanked God for today?

I actually "knew" of my husband when we played in Band together in 6th grade. Then my senior year of high school, which would be his Junior year, we ended up having quite a few classes together. He kissed me while I was running on the treadmill, and the rest is history. We've been happily married for, well, it will be 5 years in October, and have 2 beautiful girls together! I LOVE MY DH!!!
