What if we woke up tomorrow with only those things that we thanked God for today?

Sorry I had such a busy day yesterday, and wasn't able to reply. I went grocery shopping with my hubby. Thursday's he takes off so we can just have time together without our kids. After that, I met up with a few girlfriends for a massage party in the evening! It was so much fun. I served tea to them and found a recipe to make our own chocolate. We added different essential oils like orange and peppermint to add flavor. One of the girls was just certified in deep tissue massage, so since we are all together she gave us a highly discounted rate.

About the tea...My dream is to some day mix my own tea and have a shop of my very own focusing more on the medicinal varieties because I have a love of natural remedies and such. I considered it over the summer, but the logistics and start up costs really prohibit from me from doing that at this point, especially since my hubby lost his job last year and decided to venture out on his own doing appliance repair. On my search for places to source ingredients, I found this company called Steeped Tea. It's based out of Canada, but has branched into the US in the last couple of years. The teas are loose leaf, FABULOUS, and there is something for everyone. The price per ounce is comparable to what you would buy in the grocery store, but the quality of the tea can't be beat. I love that you can have a wonderfully flavored drink and be in control of how much sweetener you put in it, if any. Plus, most tea, no matter what kind, has some kind of health benefit.

I love how the company got started....the founder, Tonia, and her husband were having a hard time conceiving and it was really getting them down. They decided to go away for a weekend to get away from it all and went to a little inn in Nova Scotia. While there, she had this wonderful tea called "Earl Grey de la Creme". She loved it so much that she brought some home to her friends and had a tea party. Then, they requested tea parties of their own, and their friends wanted them as well. She started having 30 parties a month and it got overwhelming. So, she asked some of her friends if they would be willing to have parties too, and that's how Steeped Tea was born. I love that out of sadness, something wonderful happened.....and in case you are interested she now has three kids!

As you can probably tell, it has taken the "direct sales" format, which actually turned me off at first. After some thinking on it, I decided the concept really was the best for this company since the focal point is a tea party. A person can have a tea party thrown at no cost to them (unless they want to serve extra food), and hopefully the people they invite love the tea enough that they will buy some...and people DO love the tea. I never want someone to feel obligated to purchase, you should never feel like you have to buy something that you don't want or need. I've also come to respect the direct sales model as well. It allows women (usually) a way to help contribute to their family financially on a schedule that works for them.

So with all that said, if you are still interested, my website is www.mysteepedteaparty.com/unwind. If it looks like a tea that you may be interested in, you can join my facebook group. I share the specials for the month, have sample giveaways, and try to have interesting articles and blog posts pertaining to tea. I do not want to be "spammy" so it will only be every few days or so that you would hear from me. Feel free to send me a message on here for the address.

Anyway, sorry for the "commercial". It's just a big part of my life right now (although I think gardening is going to take it's place shortly), and that's why it was part of the introduction.

In case you are interested, I only went over my calories by a little bit last night, but I plan to stay on the treadmill a little longer today. I've been taking SparkPeople seriously the last two weeks, and I have already lost around 5 pounds! I am so excited about that! I love that they now up your calories when you exercise automatically. I actually notice that I feel better this time around, and I'm pretty sure it's because of that.

I have no where to go today, so I am going to go search the message board and sneak some housework in there too. It's great to meet you all!

I like both coffee and tea, and I would be curious about your tea business.

Hello and welcome to the team!

I'm Laura and I'm a tea drinker too. What kind of tea do you sell? Do you have a web site?

Laura. Mio, Michigan

Lord help me remember that nothing is going to happen today that you and I can't handle together.

If ignorance is bliss why aren't more people happy

My name is Dawn and I live in South Central Pennsylvania. I've been married for going on 13 years (on March 8th). We have three kids, run an appliance repair business, and I sell tea on the side (really I just like the fellowship from the tea parties :) ). We have 3 cats, a dog, 4 rabbits, and chickens. I love to garden and learn about the different plants and herbs I am growing.

I've been off an on SparkPeople for YEARS (I closed that account and started fresh). My highest weight has been about 230, but I'm down to 180 right now. I didn't lose that weight in the right way....it was from stress.... so although I'm glad it's gone, it doesn't feel like an accomplishment. I'm ready to get down to a healthy weight (around 130 - - the high end for my height). I've never really participated in the community in all my years using SparkPeople, so I thought maybe it would make all the difference.
