I just posted in my blog about a similar issue - not knowing how many calories I should actually be eating to make up for the BFing. It's not a simple issue and it's REALLY hard to battle the voice in your head that will cling to any excuse it can find. We've all been there - I know I have - and I am sure many are willing to encourage and keep you accountable! Welcome to the team, I haven't been active on here in a long time though I am still a BFing mom, but I'd love to add you as a friend anyway if you'd like.
Have a great weekend!

And I'm broken down to nothing,
but I'm still holding on to the one thing:
You are God and you are strong
When I am weak.

You can do it! I love SP diet concept that you don't just do a complete 180 to get healthy, you set goals and take things one step at a time. This is one thing I have had to learn as I have been here. I have been fighting for a few years to lose any weight at all, even before having two kids. Right now I'm working on eating more fruits and veggies and watching my portion control. It's tough but just hang in there.

Is it wrong to fight time, to turn it back or push it forward? Time was never mine.

Welcome to the team-there are some great women here to help!
There is a great snack thread that might give you some good ideas for healthier snacks.

I really had to make a conscious decision to cut back on the snacks and carbs when I committed to losing the weight. I didn't bring chips, cookies, candy, etc in the house at all!
I started using cheese sticks, veggies, fruit, and smoothies as snacks and this helped me a lot.
I don't count calories but just try to make healthy choices. I'm not perfect though which leads to extra minutes on the elliptical but I was successful with SP's help emoticon

Hello everyone! I'm a mom of two and currently nursing. And I make excuses for the food I put in my mouth. I can't count the times I've actually said out-loud, "well, I'm a nursing mom, I have to eat!" I try to justify my unhealthy eating by saying I'm nursing and need the calories. Or some other version that excuse. I'm hear to stop the excuses and realize this is the perfect time to get healthy, not continue down my usual path of excess.

I am looking to build a support system because I have failed numerous times doing it alone. I let my negative thoughts get the best of me. Not this time! :)
