lol. I am so with you. I did a half back in 2013. I was around 275 lbs. then and I walked the whole thing. I took me a few seconds shy of 5 hours 10 minutes to complete it. (In fact, I have a picture on my sparkpage from it.) But most definitely, one doesn't lose weight while doing that training!!

I'm currently more than that 275, and even more than what my tracker says. I'm not really sure why I'm on SparkPeople today. I haven't been in a long, long time and it breaks my heart every time I'm here because my all-time favorite team has suffered from being deleted and all my old stomping grounds are mostly dead sparkteams.

So, I was just randomly going around trying to find any sparkteams that might still be active and was looking at the "class of" teams and the "age with so many pounds to lose" teams. I used to be part of the 20's team, but that's been awhile. My birthday is in November, but after that I'll officially qualify for this team, so I figured I'd show up point in trying to get active in a team just to age out of it. Plus, maybe it's the older ones that are still interested in SparkTeams.

Guess I'm on a rant today. Sorry bout that. At least I can say that I understand where you're at.

Hello everyone

I'm Sabrina - i just turned 40 last month. I have gained weight steadily over the last 8 years and I just want to be healthy again. The weight gain started with my second pregnancy. Once I had the baby, I just kept gaining instead of losing. I know it's 99% stress related.
I've tried Spark People on and and off for a long time but never stuck to it enough to make it work. Last year, I signed up for my first half marathon, thinking that would help me lose weight. I completed the half two weeks ago (turned into a virtual half due to Covid), in 3.5 hours. My goal was literally to complete it in less than 4 hours - and I did! However, I don't think I lost a single pound during my six months of training. So here we are. I'd really like to lose 104 pounds to bring me back to my pre-baby weight. My goal is to take it in 5 pound chunks and see if that helps my mindset. I can't wait to meet new people and meet our goals together.
