I agree with the keeping as busy as possible. I am starting my own buisness, and alternately cleaning and just throwing 30 years of crap away. Not to mention taking care of our almost 7 month old son who is in the process of teething. And is right now as I speak reving up for a good fit so I will say goodye for now.

Never regret, regrets mean you never learned the lesson you were supposed to. Instead of getting even, make them miserable by being happy despite their attempts to rain on your parade.

Definitely busy. We live 53 miles from the girls school and I am the driver of the house. So my job is to drive everyone to school, summer school, work, Driver's Ed, friends etc. I am also trying to create 5 web sites for future business's. I have a craft business and shows. The house, yard and three black lab dogs. I stay busy and out of trouble. I know he would like to be closer and feels he is missing out on so much. We are emailing everyday with the days happenings, and when he can we get on and video IM. I think the worst is when he gets to come home for 3-4 days and we get use to the extra strong hands and then we have to say goodbye again. I don't have the same issues as other wives because I can talk to him almost every night and know that he is still in the states. I have to say that having three teenage daughters alone some days is more stressful than him being gone. Plus I am the primary help for his 80 year old father. I clean for him and when necessary I am his designated driver as well. I love being a military wife and I love him. SO this is all worth it because he is doing something great for our country. Thanks for listening

Deenna

Deenna,
One day at a time. Try and stay busy and not think about how long he will be gone; just that he is. I am in a Medical Transcriptionist Program online and I am making my soldier a Scrapbook of his career to help keep me busy and it will make a nice gift for him.

We don not live close to an Army base or post, so my husband goes to numerous states to train troops before they are deployed. He is in his 5th year. Just looking to see how others stay sane holding down the fort at home emoticon
