Welcome Lindsay!
I just turned 30 in October and stopped smoking this past August. I turned to food also. Good luck on your weight loss journey and if you ever need to talk I'm all ears! emoticon

Hi Lindsay,
I've been there- minus the children. You are already in the right mond set b/c you are on SP. And that's the best thing right now. You know you want to change those things so SP is a good fit. I would say, read aome articles on motivation and to get you started (along with eating healthier), go walking for at least 15 mins during the day. If you stay on post, maybe go to the gym or see if they have a jogging/walking trail. If not, or if you dont have the time for that, maybe walk around your neighborhood. Nothing vigorous- just take the time to get out and count your blessings and destress. I call this "ME TIME". While your'e at home, try stretching a little. SP has many exercise demos that you can look at and learn from, as well as many recipes that are tasty but low calorie.

Overall, just take it one step at a time. Your'e already headed in the right direction because your'e here. And if you need any help, suggestions, or encouragement along the way, just let me or any other SP member know. We are all in this together.

Hello Ladies,

My name is Lindsay and i'll be 30 next week!!!!
I have been married for 12 years. We have two children, a daughter 13, and son 8.

My weight issues really started last year when I quit smoking. In the course of year I have gained 35 pounds. Instead of smoking as my bad habit, I took up eating. Along with the weight, I have lost my energy. I don't sleep well, I have no ambition to do anything unless I have to, and I have extremely low self-esteem. Needless to say, my children and my husband are the ones suffering. Well, i'm ready for that to change. Im glad your all here to help. I look forward to the challenges. If anyone has any words of wisdom, please feel free.
