New to this team. Been on SP since June 2015. Got my vivofit about 6 weeks ago. Trying to get 10K steps at least 6 days a week and would say I'm about 75% successful. Definitely have increased my steps but looking for tips, encouragement and accountability to reach my goal consistently. I am retired and live in SW Florida. I play tennis 6 days a week and have learned that I can increase the number of steps dramatically if I jog in place between points and on changeovers. I can now get about 5K steps with an hour and a half of tennis. On days when I don't play tennis though I'm struggling to get above 8K. Need to find more things I like to do besides taking a walk around the neighborhood which I like a little but not enough to do all 10K steps. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you!

I joined this team because I love using my Garmin Vivofit2 tracker. I got it as a gift back in November and have wore it daily [take it off for showers].
Since January 1st 2016 I have been hitting my 10,000 steps.

Today marks day 98 of my streak! emoticon

Hi team emoticon

bit nervous of joining this team as I know I'm sure to find most sparkers are doing 20000+ steps a day. just hoping there is a thread for novices.

I'm on Day 11 here and now comfortably walking 2500 daily steps. I plan to finish Week 2 on 2500 steps and then move on to 3000. My aim is to lose weight by counting calories and walking 10000 daily steps.

Hi, I'm Lynne and I live in Oklahoma where the weather is beautiful right now and I am a stay at home mom with one kid in school and one at home. I love walking outside when the weather permits I take my daughter who is home for me on walks after I drop my other daughter off at school. My daughter's school is right across the street from us and there is a park right behind it so I walk there when the weather permits or if it is raining or too cold I will walk indoors with my leslie sansone videos.

Hello! I am the_little_lady. I do in-home walking basically by doing chores as have gotten tired of working out to Leslie Sansone DVDs. Chores are exercise too ya know! (especially when I do everything as have lazy housemates) emoticon However, I might join a Leslie Sansone team too again today.

A problem...my pedometer is malfunctioning. I could walk non-stop all day and all night if I wanted to and it would probably not even register a mile. So, please bare with me until I buy a new pedometer this upcoming week.

Hello from Vancouver(ish) Canada! I have had a fitbit one for several months but didn't find it motivation enough... am feeling it more here, one week in. Still always wear the one, and try to reach 10K+ as often as possible. Looking forward to being able to do it more!

Hello! I'm Barbara. I just found this team on today's Spark Coach.

I'm joining because the invitation said this team welcomes "all mobility levels that have a personal goal of walking into health one step at a time with the help of a pedometer." I have physical problems (which seem to be increasing) that prevent my walking as much as I would like, but I DO want to walk as much as possible "into health one step at a time with the help of a pedometer!"

I use the Spark People Activity Tracker, but am considering buying a FitBit One, also. I hope to learn more about it from some of you who use one. I have an old Android phone (Galaxy 3) so if anyone knows anything I should know before I buy one, I would appreciate the heads-up!

emoticon Hello! I am a mother of 2 and Mimi of 5 boys! I was a pretty healthy active person until March 8, 2013. I had a heart attack and had to quite smoking! I fell into a depression and gained almost 40 lbs. For the last yr. I have been trying to lose and been failing until about 2 months ago. I have lost 7 lbs. but still have a ways to go. I have came back to Sparkspeople looking for support that I did not find in other sites. I hope to find friends that together we can see the end of the rainbow and collect on that pot of gold!
