You have come to the right place. SparkPeople has many tools for motivation and how to reach your goals. I started tracking my food, exercise and SparkPoints.

Tracking food helps me see how and what kind of foods I am eating. It helps avoid the thoughtless eating.

Tracking exercise helps me see how I am progressing and how active I am. I believe the more active I am, the healthier I am and the more weight I can lose.

Tracking SparkPoints motivates me to read articles, take quizzes, etc., all that provides knowledge and motivation to lose weight. Learning from others is the key I think.

I wish you success in your journey to losing weight.

I know how you feel. Im the same way. Tried it all. It does help to track you food daily though. When you see your going near your limited amout it stops you from overeating. If your trying to stay within the boundries they set for you. I am a very slow looser, but sticking to mostly vegetables and rarely any processed food. But the scale doesnt seem to know that yet. But Im not giving up.

Welcome Sandra. It sounds like you have a lot of information already! Here at Spark People you will find support, motivation, and even more information. We are all here for the same reason, and the ultimate result will be better health. There are many paths to travel on this journey but we all want to end up at the same destination, improved health, improved eating habits, and enjoying life. We are all in this together. You can do it. Look forward to the smaller you! In the meantime, enjoy the journey. Each day is a gift, no matter what we weigh!

I have been trying to lose weight for about 10 years now, but instead of losing the original 40 lbs I slowly made my weigh up to 275 at my highest. I have tried so many diets, pills, and methods, and obviously none have worked. I have noted that I am very sensitive to carbs causing me to bloat, tummy issues, puffy face, week knees, etc.. I have found that bread and most carbs are my enemy and at the same time my best friend.. I know all about cortisol from stress, insulin resistance, adrenal fatigue, fatty liver, syndromeX, thyroid Issues, and slow metabolism,, I may have them all, who knows.. LOL So I am afraid to eat now, and I have binges, I have purged and I have fasted. I have tried pills, FenPhen, phentermine, Dr Oz's recommended herbs and so far NOTHING has worked!! I need help but I am running out of options but still not willing to give up.. There is a much smaller me still trying to get out... nuff said!
