Welcome. I've found Spark People is the best site around for the weight loss journey. There's so much encouragement here and I have to confess I get so excited when I get one of those little trophy rewards and spin the points wheel each day!



Short term goals:

1. Drink 10-13 cups of water per day (that's what I should be drinking for my weight.
2. Record all food eaten each day (even when I go over!).
3. Get to 185.4 pounds (10% of body weight loss)

Move from obese to overweight (BMI) when I get to 168 lbs.

Welcome! I think you will find the information, support and inspiration you need on SPARK to help you achieve your healthier living goals. My advice would be to start a couple of new habits that aren't too challenging, e.g., drink 8 glasses of water a day (or work your way up to it), walk 10 minutes. Once you have success with a limited number of goals, you can add on more. In the past when I dieted I jumped in with both feet and it wasn't sustainable - too much change all at once and too drastic. With SPARK, I view it as a lifestyle, not a diet. The weight will come off, if that is what you want, but more important is making healthy choices for yourself every day. Good luck! We're here for you.
