Keep tracking your calories and stay in your calorie range - it will be a great way to start off losing weight while you rehab. Good luck and I hope you get your full range of motion back easily & quickly!

Definitely! That's the key to it all . . .walk, Walk, WALK! It does help. That's the key to succeeding in rehab.

We were a group of hip and knee replacements in my replacement support group. Knees are harder than hips. What else did I learn? Almost to a champ; walk, Walk, WALK! I am lucky in that my primary walking partner has been my 4/5 year old granddaughter. "Come on nana, time to walk." "You can do it." "I want McDonald's hash browns when you get your coffee." Hehehehe hard to slack off with Carrie for a drill sergeant!

OBTW, all that walking eats up those calories too. Go for it!

I empathize. Just had knee #2 done on Wednesday so in the rehab phase. UGH. Definitely have to watch the calories in!

65 with 2 new hips and a shoulder... working my way back to where I was before arthritis destroyed my joints and added ugly, unwanted fat and cost me much needed muscle. Hips done first and gained back 20-25 pounds of muscle with percentage if fat remaining stable. Still recovering from shoulder surgery, consequently exercise program is limited. Need to work on calories consumed. HELP!!!
