When I got used to eating different foods, and realized I felt better, I felt like a new me. Here's wishing you good luck in finding new things to eat by using the nutrition tracker that gives you menus and grocery lists. I've taken some of the menus and lists I've liked best (for taste and for how much it all cost) and keep them in my desk to use when I shop. I just pop the list into my purse when I put my cellphone in there. I am a traveler on that same journey emoticon

. I believe that I am less likely to procrastinate if I change my "wish" to "will", my "like to" to "try to", and my "have to" to "want to".

Oh!! That is good! Keep up the good work. Have you read any of the motivational articles on here yet? I get a lot from them. They make me feel connected to other Sparkers.

71 pounds is a big step for beginning. You sound like you've already made some big steps tho, and you sound like you are actually doing it. I look forward to your posts. I've nearly lost my 71 pounds, and it's great.

Welcome to you. You're so wise to break down your goal for loss into manageable chunks. Less overwhelming.

VERY glad you have your husband's support. That helps sooooo much.

Good luck. One day-at-a-time.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Hello, my name is Deborah, I am 53 years old and grossly overweight. I have a combination of medical issues that have contributed to this dilemma: high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, bi-polar disorder, sleep apnea, and PTSD. One of my doctors called this a "deadly cocktail" that needs to be gently stirred and never shaken!! LOL I have well over 151lbs to loose to be at a normal weight for me...an overwhelming amount in my mind...so, I am breaking it up into manageable amounts. My first goal is to loose 71 pounds, getting me to an even 200lbs. I am finding the food tracker here very easy to use and maintain on a meal-by-meal basis. We are traveling a lot now and take our laptops with us, so, I will be able to stay on track with ease. I am married to a wonderful man who came into my life when I thought I had hit rock-bottom. He has been by my side through more turmoil than I could have ever handled on my own. He has made sure I have things in my life that bring me happiness: kitties and cameras...and his unconditional love and understanding. With my "cocktail" of medical issues I am at times very hard to deal with and he manages to see me through them, sometimes with some tough-love.
I look forward to participating in many thought provoking and encouraging discussions as I move forward with this new journey to a healthier me.
