I started yesterday. Like everyone else I am here to try and lose weight improve on health issues. I don't want to diet anymore as they just don't work for me. I am going to try to make small changes everyday and eat healthy and make this a way to a better lifestyle. Hopefully, I can stick with a program that fits my needs, I also started a journal and writing everything down. I have a nice Pink Piggy Bank and every lb. I lose, I am going to reward myself and put 1.00 in it. May sound silly, but I thought it would be a great idea. emoticon My husband said if I lose 10 lbs. he will add 5.00 in change to it.

Welcome! This works. I joined back in April but I've only been active since late May/early June. As of this morning, I've lost 23 lbs.! Just make sure you track all your food and get involved in a few groups. If you like, go to my sparkpage and add me as a friend so we can lose together. And don't forget to set up your own sparkpage.

Welcome. Sounds like you are determined. This is a good group. I'm doing the pound a week.

I am 59 years old, 5' 1.5" and weigh 207.6 lbs. My long term goal is to lose 70 lbs. and consistently eat three times a day. Up until yesterday when I joined Spark People I was only eating once a day. Another goal that I have (short-term) is to drink 8 glasses of water a day and work out 6 days a week. I do have some physical limitations but I believe that nothing is impossible and also the thing that you want the most might not always be easy but in the long run it will be well worth the effort. Glad to now be a part of this group.
