Kudos to you for talking to your Dr. and giving the med a chance! Awesome and wishing you continued success.

Sounds like you are on the right track and you found what works for you. The most important thing is how you feel. You sound like you are almost at the top of the hill and you're prepared to yell how successful you are. I have yet to find my strength but your story certainly does inspire me to keep going. I'll find the right method for me one of these days...smiles

At 51, I've struggled...or at least THOUGHT I struggled all my life with my weight. As a teen/.young adult I was probably rather "normal", but being told you are fat really impacts your self image.

As time went on, I gained maybe 15 pounds after marriage but THEN proceeded to have 4 c-sections and kept around 10-15 pounds with EACH child! At my highest I was probably around 250, but I never would get on a scale!

About 11 years ago, something clicked and I knew I had to get a grip on my weight.

I lost maybe 45 pounds, but still had another 50 to go.

I was at around 209 an that point and honestly, I felt great. I really have a dense physique because at 209 and 5'4" I wore a size 12!
...
Then about 5 years ago I had a double oophorectemy...both ovaries removed and BAM! Hello menopause!
I gained 22 pound without changing a thing.

I had to work twice as had for half the results. Talk about discouraging!

I have since lost and gained the same 10 pounds!

When I hit 232 again, I FINALLY went to the doctor and asked for help. I did not want weight loss surgery and did not meet the specs for it anyway.

Menopause had my hormones, emotions, motivation, etc. all whacked!
He suggested an anti depressant that has much success with women my age, Wellbutrin.

I am not a huge fan of meds in general, but I felt desperate! All my blood work showed I was fine as far as diabetes, liver, choelsterol, etc. That was such a relief to me.

Since I started the meds about a month ago, I am like a different person!
Feeling more motivated and focused and energized than I have in years!

I am down 7 pounds, working out with Walk Away the Pounds 6 out of 7 days and logging every bit of food on Spark.

I am 99% off sugar, 80% off wheat, and am in love with cauliflower rice!

I know I need encouragement and accountability so here I am!

Hope anyone reading this has a fantastic day.
