Hi everyone. I am having a hard time getting/staying on track. Some days I want to give up. Getting motivation helps. From here or anywhere.

Hello from one old crone to another - hah! You can do this. Have small victories and build on them. I think of it as a lifestyle, rather than something with a finite end as diets typically have. You will find all the information, support and inspiration you need here on Spark to be successful. I am a type 2 diabetic who now has A1C's in the normal range. I still take meds, but maybe one day will be med free. I used to find a 1/2 mile walk daunting. Today I did over 7 miles. Just keep plugging and use us for support!

Hi Paula, I made a decision yesterday that all my experience and know-how even if it didn't seem to fully take is in me -- so this time I can pull from what I know--what I recognize as stumbling blocks and like you--speaking up and removing the solo effort. Good for you.

Welcome to the Team!

My experience thus far has been to find an 'Accountability Partner' and learn the site and all it has to offer me. I also work with a Nutritionist from the local Diabetes clinic. Though I don't have Diabetes, I am prediabetic and my BMI is 37.8. I am a 60yo male. I too have had bouts of 'emotional eating', but I know that now for what it is and I am taking steps against that!

Hang in there..this is doable.. emoticon

I feel your agony. I am in the same position. This weekend I decided to eat better for 3 days. Sat, Sun, and today Mon. I did not have soda, Sobe, or meat. No weight lost but I do feel better

I hate being negative, complaining, or seeing the glass half empty.

Hi, my name is Lorie, an overweight sweet loving Senior, especially around my core. My belly is to big and my back is weak. I had a much needed total hip replacement just before Thanksgiving in 2016. Tomorrow is my last day in physical therapy.

I am finally pain free and walking better on a cane. This is a great time to begin again. If I an encourage you in any way just rely. Perhaps we can begin a new journey. I do exercise daily. Compulsive stress eating is my major issue.

Let me hear from you if interested in starting something together.

All the best,

Lorie

Well, I'm here trying again and wanting to do it by healthy eating and cutting down on how much I eat. I'm a compulsive stress eater, ugh. I'm an insulin and pills diabetic type 2. Gotta change my life style or it's not gonna be good. I'm an old crone and I want to live many more years...
