hope I can gain lots of Sparky friends and learn lots of diet ideas... We can do this together there are a lot of foods I'm not allowed to eat bc of my Diabetes and Thyroid but I hope I can learn a lot about them ...My Dr wants me to lose weight I saw a Dietician last week and they follow ADA regulations which is 45g each meal and 15g for each snack ....I want to lose weight not gain... she gave me menu's but I'm only shooting for 30-35G a meal to start... I belong t

Welcome. Wow, a cruise. That is sooooo much fun.

OK, check out the recipes in the recipe area. None are too complicated, and don't really take that long to prepare. It does take time to plan out menus and your shopping list, but if you use the nutrition tracker, you're set.

Well, good luck, and keep reading and posting. There is so much information and inspiration to be found on this group.

Welcome Turtle! Glad you chose to join the 50+ team. We are a caring and compassionate group of folks who give and get support and encouragement on a daily basis. We're all in this together so feel comfortable posting or asking questions. Someone will respond pretty quickly.

You're on the right track. Set your goals in small increments and take baby steps to achieve them. Reading some of the Success Stories from the tool bar above will give you motivation and inspiration. To get the job done, start by drinking 8 cups of water a day and exercising at least 10 minutes at a time. Once you've established these good habits, move on to more of the things you want to achieve.

I recommend use of the Nutrition Tracker (under My Tools) as it gives a good snap of where your calories, carbs and other nutrients are coming from. It also has recommended ranges to support a healthy weight management program.

This is not a diet...but a journey to a healthy lifestyle. You'll be setting good habits that will last a lifetime and will keep you fit and trim.

Come back soon and post often. Look forward to getting to know you better. With determination and consistency you will achieve your goals for the cruise in December.

I am a 6? year old grandmother and need to lose 50 lbs. 10 at a time. I am going on a cruise in December and would like to look in the mirror and like what I see. I hate to cook, but looking at the suggestions, I am excited. Also, the support looks good.
