emoticon Hi Pearl! Welcome to the beginning of your healthy lifestyle. Diets don't work, but making small changes to the way you live does work.
emoticon Most of us are here for the long haul, so feel free to get to know us. Questions ... wonderful, that's the only way we learn. Aha moments ... share them. Ditto, They have it all right. I couldn't agree more. I find the food tracker my best resource. I always put in my food for the next day in ahead of time. Then I tinker with it for a night, to get the most calories I can. emoticon

Take one day at a time. One pound at a time.

And the more I learn the less I know.

Hi Pam! Welcome to the 50+ Team! Glad you chose to join us. This is a caring and compassionate group focused on giving and getting support and encouragement.

You'll find wonderful useful tools, videos and articles on SparkPeople. And the friends are absolutely awesome. Wander around the tool bar above to experience what I'm talking about.

Set your goals and take tiny steps to achieve them. That helps avoid frustration and disappointment. I started by drinking 8 cups of water a day and when that was an established habit, I moved on to exercise (dancing zumba may be perfect for you) for 10 minutes. A reward for reaching a goal is a nice incentive...just be sure its a non-food reward.

The Nutrition Tracker is the most popular tool used most frequently. It serves to show where our calories and other nutrients are coming from. There are recommended ranges to assure a healthy weight management program.

We're all in this together. Come back soon and post often.
