Welcome to the Team! I have a health issue and I can tell you that stress definitely makes weight loss a challenge. I try to devote at least ten minutes a day to meditation or at least being quiet. You also might have to change your exercise routine because you've hit a plateau. Good luck!

Hi 41Helen. After supper, we sit and watch TV. When I begin to want food, I go to my craft room and get on my laptop or work on crafts while watcing TV. The time actually flies. (My DH goes to the kitchen). Before I know it, the news is on and I eat my snack which is usually some form of fruits. There are creative ways to stay out of the kitchen and you will find whaat works well for you. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Hi 41Helen, My name is Sheila. I have found that using my laptop while I'm watching tv keeps me busy enough to not eat. Also crossword or other puzzles can keep your hands busy. We do all encourage each other on here and I'm hoping that will keep me motivated. Congrats on losing 60 lbs already.

IF you go to the sign in page (log in) and go down the list, there is an area called explore secrets. There a a lot of categories and one of them is how to deal with plateaus. You might look @ that.

As was metioned, eating in front of the TV is a habit (and a comfort). Boils down to emotional eating (welcome to a large club with that problem!) There are lots of articles on that topic. Explore.

hope I can gain lots of Sparky friends and learn lots of diet ideas... We can do this together there are a lot of foods I'm not allowed to eat bc of my Diabetes and Thyroid but I hope I can learn a lot about them ...My Dr wants me to lose weight I saw a Dietician last week and they follow ADA regulations which is 45g each meal and 15g for each snack ....I want to lose weight not gain... she gave me menu's but I'm only shooting for 30-35G a meal to start... I belong t

Welcome. Eating in front of the TV is a habit. It is comforting and makes us feel loved so it is a hard habit to change. Afghans are a great way to keep your hands busy. I like to drink flavored water or just cool water with a little lemon in it. This gives my mouth something to do and no calories. If that isn't enough, air popped corn is a great alternative.

Hi, new to community, I've lost 60 # and it seems I forgot how I did it. I need help to lose 50 more #. It seemed so easy before. I'm a massage therapist, have ahusband who is disabled and a son who is disabled. A little stress here. My bad time to eat is in front of the t.v. I want to relax and watch t.v. but feel the urge to eat as I'm watching. I've taken up making afgans which help a little bet. Hope someone can help and also am hoping to meet a lot of new people.
