emoticon Most of us are here for the long haul, so feel free to get to know us. Questions ... wonderful, that's the only way we learn. Aha moments ... share them. yes there is alot to consume but just take your time and insorp what you have learned and use it to the best of your ability.... i learn something new everday and i am fairly new myself and i just finally learned out how to do the nutrition tracker yesterday i'm having a ball with that....you need to set some goals and follow them as closely as possible ...i met several goals i have set one was to b happy with myself and that i am....i am losing weight and that makes me happy... but you have to do what makesyou happy....

hope I can gain lots of Sparky friends and learn lots of diet ideas... We can do this together there are a lot of foods I'm not allowed to eat bc of my Diabetes and Thyroid but I hope I can learn a lot about them ...My Dr wants me to lose weight I saw a Dietician last week and they follow ADA regulations which is 45g each meal and 15g for each snack ....I want to lose weight not gain... she gave me menu's but I'm only shooting for 30-35G a meal to start... I belong t

Hi Joan,

Welcome to the team.

You have come to the right place for ideas and motivation to develop a healthy lifestyle and to become fit and active.

The SparkPeople site offers a lot of information that may seem overwhelming at first. Just take your time and learn a little each day. If you do not understand something, then just mark it and go back and visit it in another week. It just means you weren't ready to absorb and use that information at that time on your journey.

As you seem to have decided, you are never too old to develop healthy ways of eating and exercising. Yesterday I was out on the bike trail walking and I met 4 cycle-rs who were in their 70's. I am in my mid-50s and decided that if they can exercise and be fit then I certainly should be able to.

My best to you on your journey to health and being fit and active with your grand- and great-grand children. What a wonderful lesson to teach children of all ages...you will grow older, but at least you can be healthy and active as you age.

I am slowly getting around this SP site. Gosh so much to see and read about
