welcome back and you have lots of encouragement here as well as keeping motivated... yes fer sure do get off the pred they had me on that when they discovered i had ashma well the lbs just started piling on now here i am... emoticon you have to want to do it 4 yourself and you will be happier and healthier.... emoticon i like the eliptecal it is easier on the knees....

hope I can gain lots of Sparky friends and learn lots of diet ideas... We can do this together there are a lot of foods I'm not allowed to eat bc of my Diabetes and Thyroid but I hope I can learn a lot about them ...My Dr wants me to lose weight I saw a Dietician last week and they follow ADA regulations which is 45g each meal and 15g for each snack ....I want to lose weight not gain... she gave me menu's but I'm only shooting for 30-35G a meal to start... I belong t

Oh, yes, Prednisone is notorious for making one ravenously hungry . . . out of proportion to the bodies calorie needs. That's a tough one. I hope you can get off the Pred in the future.

Welcome back. You'll make it just remember we are all here to help. I do a lot of walking and low aerobics because I have a bad knee. Just take it slow and you'll make it.

Thank You. Right now my exercise consist of walking down to the ice machine or just walking into my work.

I am on oxygen and have been since February. Also I am on predisone, which creates a very feeling of never being full. Since February I have gained 20 pounds alone. It is so frustrating to have to carry the oxygen around with me, but one day I will be better and will be able to go back on the treadmill again. I loved the treadmill.

But I know Sparkpeople works and the best way it works is making friends and buddy's on the teams. emoticon

Take one day at a time. One pound at a time.

Welcome back. First of all, sorry to hear you were ill. That is so frustrating!

I am glad you're back, though. You're right. It really is true. Once you miss even a day or two of exercising it is way way too easy to slip down tyhe slippery slope of completely stopping. But, alright, you've fought your way back from that slope and vow to get exercise into your routine again. I know for me, I just do not feel right unless I get my fitness minutes in. And that is important for me to record them, too, because that makes it more "real".

Keep it up, take it day by day, step by step. YOu can do it.

This is the 2nd time I have done the sparkpeople diet program. I was very successful the last time. But in the last two years I have been sick and gained the weight back.

I learned a very valuable lesson, never ever stop exercising for more than a week. Because I lost the drive and stopped exercising completely and that was part of the problem.

But I am back because I know this works and there are not that many 80 year old fat women.

I hope to make some great buddies.
