I really get what you are saying about staying motivated! Unfortunately I some times get in a mindset where I start to think that eating this one piece of candy, or skipping this one workout won't matter in the long run, but of course that just leads to me eating more candy or skipping more workouts...

What I've found works (kind of ;) ) for me is doing group workouts (for some reason that gives me a feeling of having some accountability to the other people in the group (even if it's just a spinning or yoga class and I don't know the other people). Try that, or get a workout buddy (I haven't found one yet...).

Also, set goals, make a detailed plan of how you are going to reach those goals so you know what you are going to do each day (and I would add some days without workouts, so you know that if you do workout today you will have tomorrow off - and still follow the plan!). I would say that the most important thing with goal-setting is the reward! Do remember that if you stick to the plan you should reward yourself! Think of something that you really want (new clothes? makeup? electronics? a magazine? a visit to a museum?). Having something nice to look forward to always help!

One final thing that my spinning instructor keeps telling us: If you start thinking that you might not be able to do it, your brain will hang on to the thought, and your body will not perform as good as it could have done.

Good luck!

I"m looking for some motivation also.

Right now my biggest motivator (that's keeping me going with workouts and eating well) is my wedding in three months. If it weren't for that....I'd be off and on :( I wish I had someone to help motivate me everyday!!!

I am trying to find a group to help motivate me. I have used this website off and on for awhile, but I have to found a forum. There are soo many. I have 10 lbs to lose and I am having a hard time working out long than a day or two and I quit and I hate it!! Anyway hoping to find a forum home.
