Ha! I find I actually want to do my work out, like actually crave it during my ride to work! Which is about 2 hours after I'm up. I'm not a morning person...but kids make you have to get up and moving. So I figure I'm not fully awake until then.
Hey another similarity....IBS. Have that too. :( And unfortunately a lot of healthy foods I LOVE are triggers like Bananas, Honey Dew melon, Cantaloupe, Eggs at times. The only time I can eat an egg by itself is if I'm absolutely craving it. A hard boiled egg minus the yolk I'm a bit safer with but sometimes I'd love an omlette but I'm always taking a chance, even if I use entirely egg whites. Oh and cucumbers they can be really iffy at times. GRRRR!!!
Thank goodness I can eat salad again. When I was pg with the twins they slowed my GI system down almost to a grinding halt and I could eat salad! That was one thing that stayed okay after pregnancy, sans a lot of cukes!

I do do morning workouts, but mine are more like mid morning to afternoon workouts. I found as a mom, our workout schedules are continently changing. I found I have different routines not only for the weather & seasons but some flexible ones for when life gets hectic. Then there are some seasons of life I'm thrilled when I get any exercise in at all. I found it can be hard at times to juggle my family and my workouts and my duties. But, in my case, my husband has been my support during these times. He knows that exercising makes me feel way better and keeps my IBS in line and more manageable. Rely on family to help you through those difficult times :)

Blessings,

Jessie

I envy those who can do morning workouts! I have tried a couple times but have never been able to make it stick. It would be so much easier to start my day having it done. I felt icky this weekend too. I'm a go, go, go type of person and I was more like a lump on a log all day Saturday. I even missed my kids hockey that evening and that NEVER happens. But felt well enough to get my workout in yesterday. Working on a new schedule this week, taking Monday and Thursday off. Monday is my oldest sons Hockey practice night from 6-7 and Thursday my Hubby has Fire Dept. drills so I put those in as rest nights. Plus my knees won't let me do more than 3 days in a row MAX so this way it's a nice break up for the week. I'll let ya know how it goes. Feel better Cedarcitymom!

I agree about having to make yourself a priority. It is so easy to want to take care of everyone around you, all of the time. I decided that I wanted to be a good example for my seven year old. He is now picking up on the good habits and actually wants to workout with me. I learned that it is okay for me to have "me" time. In the end it only makes me a better mom and wife.
One trick I have learned that works for me, is to wear my workout pants to bed. It gives me one less reason to just get up in the morning and get it done. I feel better when I can start the day with a workout. I have to admit that some days, the bed is really comfortable.

I don't know about you but at first it was hard for me to give my self the time to get on the treadmill and workout. I felt like I *should* be spending that time snuggling with the kids or something. Esp. now that I work all day and they are in school. BUT I found out that my kids were learning a lot from my weight loss/healthy lifestyle changes! Esp. my oldest son. Now my daughter is just starting to pick up the healthy habits too...and she needs to....she's overweight for her age, even if she's tall. I'm teaching by example.
Don't get me wrong I will admit I still feel guilty when it's 8 PM and the twins want me to lay with them for a few minutes and I'm not quite done with my workout. But some nights the thought of not working out until EVERYTHING ELSE is done kills me because in this house that would be 9-9:30pm. I do my best to make crock pot meals so I can get my workout done as soon as I get home from work and have the rest of the night to do all the other stuff but it doesn't always work out that way.
I find I just have to take it one day at a time.
(Down one more pound today....but Friday is my "official" weigh in day)

Thanks for the encouragement! I know we can do it! Lol...I often think we moms need to stick together Different stages of life mean different things in the weight loss journey. My kids are all about your kids ages too.... Mine range from 11.5 - 7.5 So I get the homework and hubby OT.... I even understand being a working mom (though its been awhile). Let's keep on keeping on.

Blessings,

Jessie

Hi Jessie! I have many similarities. (I'm no longer a SAHM :( Though I'd love to be. )
I was much like you I was always active and fit when I was younger too. Then I hit nursing school and it was equal to the freshman 15 only 2 years later it was 20! I managed to stay around 148lbs (I'm 5' 3.5"). Through my wedding and then after I had my first son a year later I returned to 148.
Ahh then I got Grave's disease...my weight first ballooned to 158, (went hypothyroid before it went hyper) and I dropped to 128. Radiation therapy and 6 months later I returned to that damn 148.
Now enter secondary infertility and a diagnosis of polycystic ovavian syndrome. 3 years of IVF and I was finally blessed with my B/G twins!!! It was simply survival mode for the next 18 months with the twins and a 5yr old! And thus I was at an all time high of 162!
I found sparkpeople when the twins were 18 months and decided since I'd returned to work it was time to start doing a bit more for my self too! I was giving to everyone BUT my self. I busted my butt and got down to 127 in a matter of about 4 months time. No one liked me below 130....But I like me there. And trust me I have to work to stay below 130! I maintained between 127-129 for the next year or so and in then over the past I'd say 3 years or so I've gained between 6-11lbs.
So here I am back and determined to get back to that 127-129 range. Even if it means I'm on my treadmill and doing squats, push ups, and sit ups at 9 at night like tonight. It's a bit tougher with working full time, having the kids older and in school coming home with homework, my oldest is 11.5 and ADHD and still needs checking over and the twins are 6.5 and have spelling/reading everynight. Even though my hubby is helpful it's his OT time of year and simply amazing just how fast the day goes!

I just keep reminding my self it's only 10-11lbs this time, (now just 8), NOT the 35 like last time. WE CAN TOTALLY DO THIS!

Hi! My name is Jessie. I'm a stay-@-home mom of 3 blessings. I started my journey of weight loss about 3.5 years ago. I was always active and fairly fit when I was young. But shortly after the birth of my first child the weight piled on. Some of it was completely my fault; bad eating habits, no exercise, etc. But some was due to a food allergy and slow, very slow thyroid. So, after figuring a few things out I started at 199.5 and got as low as 136.5. But I slacked off some for winter and then add the holidays and you get a 10lbs weight gain. So, have already lost about 2 labs and 8 more to go. 😃 How bout you all?

Blessings,

Jessie
