Hey y'all! My name is Jennifer. I'm 22 years old! I'm going to school to get my degree in secondary education- English. I plan to get my masters in English literature after that.

I have always been a big person. Now, it has gotten way out of control. I don't only need to, but I HAVE to lose at least 200 pounds before I have a heart attack or worse. I'm finally ready to commit to something like this. So, here it goes! (:

Hey everyone!
My name is Brandie. I was born and raised in FL. I have recently moved to SC. I am a mother of 2 boys (1 and 8). I will be 28 this month.
Since my birthday is coming up I am realizing I am no longer in my late teens. I know I am a little late lol. I need to grow up and do something about my health.
I have pcos (diagnosed almost 10 years ago). If you know anything about that, you know it is hell. Fortunately I was able to have my 2 boys after a lot of blood, sweat and tears. I had my tubes tied after my last so now it is my time.
Are you ready for the numbers?....I need to lose 129 lbs. That would put me around 170. I have a long way to go. My big goal is to be happy and healthy by 30.
Right now I am on day 3 irl and day 1 on sparkpeople. I would really love to find someone local who needs to lose a bunch of weight too. Right now I go with my future mil. Which is great dont get me wrong. I love her to death but there is not one ounce of fat on her tiny body.

Well now that I have rambled on enough... I hope you all have a great day and meet every one of your goals :)

Hi everyone! My name is Megan and I will be 27 in about a week! I am from South Carolina. I am a registered nurse on the weekends and a full time nurse practitioner student during the week! I have always struggled with my weight, but after graduating college and getting married, it has really gotten out of control. I know better and I know what it takes to lose weight-- it's just hard to actually do it! I really want to be a good role model for my patients and get healthy for myself. My family has a lot of health issues related to being overweight and I really want to stop the cycle! Another reason I would like to lose weight is because my biological clock is ticking...slowly, but it is ticking nonetheless. I want to have a healthy pregnancy and reduce my risk of complications related to being overweight while pregnant...when the time comes.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and having the support of people going through the same journey towards weight loss!

I currently weigh about 270 and would like to lose 100 pounds.

Oh and my picture is of my sweet baby, Layla. She's the best!

That's really good to keep in mind. my worst trigger is I work in the sam's club cafe and so i usually just buy from there but then for fun we were looking at the nutrition and one slice of the pizza was around 1200 calories. i really need to pack a lunch for now on.

Janel, eating out a lot is a big problem for me too. I start the week with good intentions, and then I just get so busy I end up stopping on the way home for a bite 4-5 times per week and those calories really add up! It's just so easy to do though. One thing that has helped me to curb it (slightly) is to consider the financial cost as well. I buy groceries every week and yet I know some of them go to waste when I choose to eat out instead. And even if you're getting fast food, the pennies can add up as well. So that has helped me stay on track somewhat.

My name is Joanna and I am 24 years old. During college I lost 90 lbs by starving/binging/purging. I loved the way I looked but it was an unrealistic and unhealthy way to lose weight and I was not active at all. I gained all of the weight back plus more and now sit at 240 lbs. I hope to lose 120lbs the correct way this time but would love an accountability partner to help me get through it.
I plan to run a 10k in December and become a certified yoga instructor and need to start walking/running outside. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 and my weight has been an issue for me since then.

Hi y'all! My name is Kristina and I am currently 27 years old. I am married to a wonderful man (who is 24 years older than me) and I have two wonderful and quirky children.

My 7 year old has problems with weight gain and with her stomach. She has severe GERD. We are on a waiting list to have her tested for Dyslexia. She currently sees an amazing counselor and is coping well with generalized anxiety disorder and communication problems. My 6 year old is a bit more complex. Her diagnoses list is too long for this post but her DNA makes her very very rare and literally one of a kind. She struggles with growing. She uses a wheelchair often and there are days where she is bedridden. I love my girls more than anything and they are a HUGE part of my weightloss. I want to be healthy for them but I need to be healthy for them as well.

I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia-POTS last year. I am pre-diabetic. I have heart abnormalities. I am a recovering addict and alcoholic (clean for 12 years!) and I once struggled with anorexia and bulimia. I have a past of trauma and pain and I fully acknowledge that I need to heal from that in order to completely move forward.

Two weeks ago I really began to be active in loosing weight and being healthy. I started at 247 lbs. Today I am 234. I have changed my eating and drinking habits (cutting down on Dr. Pepper intake). I workout an hour a day (30 min before the kids are up and 30 min when they go to bed). My goal weight for long term is 135 but I would be super happy to get to 165!

Hi, I'm Anna, a single 25 year old from the mid/upstate NY. I am weird, artsy, nerdy, and crazy. I am in love with music in all it's forms and play a little piano and guitar but love singing the most.

I want nothing more than to be healthy and feel good about the decisions I'm making for my body- no "diet" for me! It's all about a lifestyle change. I'm finishing up making a very in-depth plan to keep myself on track and I start in March.

I'm really hoping I can find someone to buddy up with who is around my age and has the same goal as me (overall health, NOT simply weight loss). I have no specific number goals, but have found other ways to track my progress. I do have a LOT of weight to lose, but of all the times I've wanted to lose weight I've never been sure I could do it until now- now that the weight doesn't matter to me. It was always a desire to change my appearance, and I never had a lasting drive. I hated my body and the way I looked but that was never a strong enough drive to stick to a plan. It's only now- now that I've grown to love myself and my body- that I feel the drive to take care of my body and do what's best for it. That drive is why I'm sure I will be able to get healthier and eventually become a healthy weight.

I have a long journey ahead, and I hope this site can be among the tools I use to keep myself on track.

My name is Rochelle. I am back at it again. This is my third time rejoining this team. Originally I joined with a goal to lose 108 lbs and I lost nearly 100 of them using spark people and doing the BLC on this team. But I got sick and medications have wrecked havoc on my body. I regained all but 20 lbs of the weight I lost. I apparently didn't make all of the right lifestyle changes. This time I am going to commit to making lasting changes.

My name is Emily and I am 28 years old! I got married October 20th 2013 in North Carolina where it was absolutely gorgeous from all the beautiful fall colors! I have been called a "cougar cub" hahah because I am 28 years old and my husband is 23 years old. Yes, we have a 5 year age gap, but in my defense, he is so much wiser beyond his years and completely my Mr. Right!!

We have a pup (who really isn't really a pup anymore) who turned 4 this past December. He is our furbaby and doesn't see himself anything other than our human baby! hahah He is so much fun and super high energy and keeps us on our toes.

I joined SparkPeople because with all the trackers and groups I thought I would find the motivation I needed, whether it be from success stories or from people right where I'm at or people who have a little more work to do than me who are working so extremely hard. I am so beyond ready to be completely healthy and happy and ready for little babies with my husband! That is my very end goal. To get to the point where I am healthy in mine and my doctors eyes to hopefully have a healthy pregnancy and have my husband and I some babies!

I'm 29 years old. I am married to my husband of almost 5 years. My daughter is almost 4 and has special needs. I have been over weight my entire adult life and most of my teen years. I was diagnosis at age 15 with PCOS, the youngest my doctor had ever seen. I have insulin resistance and am borderline diabetic with hypoglycemic episodes. I am currently sitting at almost 200 pounds over my highest health bmi. I am hoping to lose 100 pounds this year but know that might be a little difficult. I will be happy as long as at the end of 2015, I have lost at least 50 pounds and am living a healthier life. I am addicted to Biggest Loser and can't wait for the finale this week. I have really enjoyed watching this year especially after last year's season. Rob is totally who I am rooting for because I think he has the most to gain but I would love if Sonya wins. (Hometown girl there!!!) My husband is almost 40 and we want to have more kids so I really need to kick this weight to the curb.

I'm a 30 year old woman who is lucky enough to have been married to my amazing husband for almost 11 years. I've been blessed with 2 children (boy and a girl) and am currently living in southern Kentucky.
As of right now, I'm weighing in at 100 lbs over a healthy weight for my height. It's so hard for me to write that because quite frankly, it's embarrassing that I've allowed myself to go this far. I've made excuses...heck, I'm pretty sure that I'm the Queen of the Excuses, but at the end of the day, I have absolutely no one to blame except for myself.
My goals is to simply exercise daily and to eat within my calorie limits. My hope is to lose all 100 lbs by January of 2017. But most importantly, I pray that I begin a healthy lifestyle. I'm so tired of being...tired.
I can't wait to meet you all and watch you accomplish all of your goals along this journey!

Hello everybody. Im Chelsea!

I have 109 pounds left to lose. Im currently at 309 and I hope to be at 200lbs by NYE. I was unemployed for over a year and gained 50lbs in that time from eating my feelings. Im feel like I am finally ready to get back down to a decent(for me) weight and be able to do everything I used to love so much that I get winded doing now.

I'm Elizabeth, 25 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life. After my caught was stillborn July 2012, my weight skyrocketed to the 290 I'm at now. I just married my best friend in December and we're both losing the weight together. When we try again for a baby, I want to be in the best possible shape to eliminate unnecessary complications. I know I feel great at 190 and would love to get there (or below!) again over the course of the next few years. Hello Everybody,

My name is April, I am 26 and I will be graduating in May with a BA in three different majors (as well as an additional minor). I love to travel and I spent most of 2014 outside of the United States.

Would like to go from 270 to 160-170 being 5'8"... So I've got about 100-110 I'd like to lose but honestly I'd be super happy to see 199 on the scale lol. Years 20-25 I went from 160 to 200, then 25 and after I hit 200lbs and beyond to my current weight of 270.

My food problems are definitely fast food & pop, and definitely being someone that eats when they are bored/emotional eater. It seems like ALL of my weight goes straight to my stomach, theeee worst.

I try to go to the gym every other day, and just today I got T25 workout & PiYo workout, so I'll be trying those in a little bit here. I've been using a FitBit that is really great motivation for me.

Good luck to everyone on here & my best advice to anyone would be not to put off losing weight another year and just make it happen and don't throw away all your progress if you mess up just a little bit.

Hello, I'm Charmaine. This is my 3rd or 4th time on SparkPeople. Each time life got in the way, and I just gave up trying to get healthy. I started again back in June 2014, and as of today I've lost 44 pounds. I was at my heaviest at 425. I'm also going through another huge changed because I got separated from my husband, and we're getting a divorce. I'm 26, and I just recently started to learn how to love myself, and get healthy at the same time. Please feel free to add me. I would love to have more friends that are in the same boat as me.

Hi there, my name is Brittany. I have long since struggled with my weight. At it's height, my weight reached 295, right now I am roughly 260 (I've lost 5 pounds in the last two weeks). I am embarking on losing my weight yet again. The difference this time is that I actually have something to lose it for; my son. I had a baby last year and I want to be healthy for him and lead by example. I like having accountability, as it makes it easier for me to stay on track. Feel free to add me. :)

Hello everyone, I'm not new to this group but I did leave the group last year due to finally getting pregnant with the love of my life. My pregnancy was high risk so I left to take time for my baby and my selfs well being. I have had my beautiful little girl which has inspired me to get healthier to be around for her in the future. Also I would love to feel more confident in my body.

Hey guys! I'm not that new to SparkPeople but am new to this group.

I don't know how many times I've tried and failed to lose weight but I keep saying each year is going to be different, and even though they usually are, the same stuff still happens and I never reach my goal. I want to lose between 70-100 pounds but I am not putting an end date on this goal because I honestly don't know how long it's going to take me and I don't want that pressure added.

Anyway, hit me up if y'all wanna be friends, I'm always up for that and need as much accountability as I can get! :)

I'm not new to SparkPeople but I am new to this group.

I have tried so many times over the past two years to lose weight and I currently at 21 years old weigh more than I ever have in life.
I have successfully lost weight in the past. At about 15/16 years old I went from 230 to about 165 through just good diet and exercise. And then, I just got rid of all of those good habits that I had cultivated.

The crazy thing is, I didn't start to notice that I was gaining my weight back or that I had had like hundred too many cheat days until I was at like 200 lbs.

I have tried time and again to get back to those habits but I have failed to. I'm trying to rekindle that determination and that drive that I had. Granted, my life was much more simple back then, but I can't use that as an excuse anymore.

So that said,
Current weight: 242 lbs
Goal weight: 135 lbs

Nice to meet everyone. Hope I can get some SparkFriends that'll help me to reach all of my health and fitness goals.

Hey guys!



This is about my dozenth time starting a "lifestyle change" and I'm really hoping this one sticks...

My name is Dan, and I'm a 25 year old father (of two) and husband (of only one) who lives in Somerset, PA, though I've lived just about everywhere in the Harrisburg area during my life... I work for the Commonwealth, which is a great job but leaves me sitting on my butt most of the day. I'm hoping to get up and get moving, and eventually do a couch to 5k program before the end of the year.

When I'm not working, or hanging out with my kids, I'm usually either reading or writing. I just finished Patrick Rothfuss' new book, the Slow Regard of Silent Things earlier today, and I am midway through editing my first fantasy novel!

I'm also something of a Buddhist... I'm not the best and often need to remind myself that I'm slipping, but when I do practice it, I am so much happier.

I'm currently just north of 300 pounds, though a year ago I was 330, so I'm getting somewhere, right? My doctor thinks I can get down to 165 (which is half of 330) hence my username, halftheman, but I really am not looking to go THAT far. However, I'm hoping to lose at least 100 pounds and reach 200.

I'm not really sure what to talk about, but I like to think I'm pretty friendly, so if you have any questions, let me know :)

Hey hey. I'm Jolene, 26 years old, and a transplant to Spokane, WA. I've been obese my whole life, and I'm ready to be able to say "I used to be obese." I have around 150 pounds to lose, and a major sugar and carb addiction to break.

I have a family, and never want my son to have the same problems and setbacks I did in life from being fat. I need to step up and be that example for him. I also want to live to see him reach all of his important life milestones.

Winter makes it hard to stay motivated here, as the weather keeps us in a lot. If you want to chat and start a support network, let me know!
