Hey all!

My name is Angel, I'm 28 with a goal of around 50lbs to lose. I was on SparkPeople before but I have a hard time with my perfectionism and I went from religiously writing in my food journal and exercising every other day for almost an hour to nothing as the semester progressed. My tactic this time is not too obsess and document everything, but try to work out everyday and eat sensibly.

So why did I decide to lose weight? Well, I've had a love/hate relationship with my body for a while. I've always been chubby, but embraced my curves and felt sexy in my own skin.

I had always been around 180 and a size 14 since high school and at 5'9, that felt pretty good and healthy (I'm shooting for 165-170 now). Then I hit 25 and each year I was gaining more and more weight and started to feel things were getting out of control. To make matters worse, after I quit smoking, I began to battle stress and emotional problems with binge eating. Three years later, I'm about 215 on a good day and a size 18. I still feel sexy most of the time, but when my clothes come off I get pretty damn depressed. It's killed a lot of my libido too, unfortunately.

For me, my biggest challenges will be setting myself up for failure by overdoing it and then burning out. I also have a sweet tooth, made worse by my love for baking and my craving for that sweet serotonin rush that follows eating sugar. Any tips on this?

I love to cook both vegan and vegetarian recipes, so anyone that wants to share recipes, feel free to send me a message.

I look forward to being back on SparkPeople and part of this team!
