My name is Courtney. I am 26 years old. I just got married in May and my husband and I have decided to start losing weight together. My goal is to lose around 20 lbs. I am a kindergarten teacher so I am on my feet all day long. When I get home I really want to just watch tv. However I am forcing myself to run and do some type of strength training each night before I watch tv. I have started to change the way I am eating. I am a HUGE french fry fan, however I have given those up. It is a special occasion when I get fries now. Instead I am going for triscuits, fruit, or veggies. I sure do miss those fries!

Hey team, I've been lurking around getting inspiration for a while now, but this is my first time ever posting.. so I hope I'm doing it right!!

I'm almost 24years old, 5'5'' (163cm) and I currently weight 135lbs (61kgs). I've recently gained weight but usually I weight about 130lbs. I really want to get down to 120. I'm trying to do it the healthiest way possible but for some reason the weight is just not coming off! I've always been so unhappy with my body. In highschool I weighed 150lbs..but even now I feel fat. I work out (mostly just cardio) about 5 or 6 times a week, and Monday-Friday I behave with a 1300cal "diet" (I just make sure I eat healthy during the week, veggies & fruit, no snacks, not many carbs, etc). I do like to go out and have fun on the weekend though.

I would looove advice and support on trying to lose this weight!!
Also, if anyone is similar to me and wants a weightloss buddy, I would love to keep each other motivated! Let me know.

Hi I'm Karin and I'm 21 and I'd like to get down to 130 lbs by summerish but I realize that's going to be tough because I just don't want to leave the warm comfort of my apartment when it's this cold outside. I use to weigh 172 but I managed to get down to 140 but I'm back up to around 150 so now is the time to figure this whole having a good life style thing out.

Hello, I am 24 and have a desk job that keeps me sedentary most of the day. I've recently developed a lot of digestion issues and muscle/joint problems I attribute to a very, very poor diet and lack of exercise so I'm looking to motivate myself into a healthier lifestyle! I'm 5'6'' and 145 pounds so I've set a goal to get back to my pre-college weight of 130 pounds. I also want to improve my fitness level so I can contribute more on my indoor soccer team. Looking forward to getting started!

Heya! My name's Molly and I'm 26. Since I started working as a CNA two years ago, I've toned up in all areas but one - my tummy. I'm kinda pear-shaped to begin with. Its hard for me to work my stomach since I have mild scoliosis. Before I had my 6 y/o I was down to 125 and felt wonderful! Then I got pregnant... maybe it worked too well!

Hi Everyone!

I have been an intermittent member of Spark People, but am looking to really get involved now. I am currently still in school pursuing my master's and that means I spend much of my time sitting on my tush in class! Needless to say it hasn't been good for my body in any way...and I'm looking to do something about that. With that, living alone has lead to some pretty awful eating habits, that I am trying to correct. I'm just looking forward to feeling healthy again and getting that drive to workout back! Hello - I read about Spark People in Fitness Magazine a while back and never joined. Then I saw it again recently and decided to join. I think this is one of the few things left that I have not joined in the hopes it will help me to achieve my goals.

I've been a dieter for a long time so I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the subject. The only thing holding me back at this point is myself. I'm looking for motivation to break through the "wall" and finally achieve my goal weight. I'm also looking to resolve my issues with food so I can have a healthy relationship with my body and really learn to love myself.

It's a lot to accomplish, but I'm trying to take it day by day.

OH - almost forgot. I'm 28, married, and I might be trying to have kids in the next year. I'm hoping to lose 20-25 pounds before I get pregnant.

I've been on SP for two weeks now. I may have posted something to this before but I don't think I did it right, so here it is again ... I signed up mainly to count calories. I am really athletic (always training for a race and I am obsessed with crossfit) but am still a big girl. I realized lately that it doesn't matter how far I can run or how many push ups I can do, I MUST eat healthier if I am going to loose the weight and ever be able to wear a two piece again. I have a 8 month old and am currently unemployed so now is a good time to focus on losing that weight. Weight has always been such a privet struggle and it feels strange to share with strangers but maybe there's something to this.

Hello All, I am brand new to this site! I'm Kristy, I'm 26 soon to be 27, and I currently weigh 132. I am 5 foot 6 inches, so I am at my "perfect" weight for my height (according to my doctor) but I just don't feel good about the shape of my body! I would like to lose about 12 lbs and get myself back down to the 120lbs I was before I met my current BF of almost 5 years!

I'm just looking for a little motivation, some support and hopefully some new friends! If anyone knows where I can find some free weekly meal plans that would help too!

Hey Guys and Gals,

I just joined SP this month. I'm looking for motivation to continue my weight loss. I moved in August, and I used my empty cupboards as motivation to eat healthier. I lost twenty pounds by eating healthier, portion control and hiking a few times a week. I definitely can lose at least 20 more! Trying to get moving now that it's winter, but it isn't as easy for me.

Hey Megan! I am looking to "meet" some people on here as well as we all go through this together. What are some things that you have been doing to lose the weight fitness and nutrition wise? This site has really helped to learn from others even though I am pretty in tune with what I need to do (I am continuously studying to be a personal trainer, nutritionist) sometimes it's just hard to actually do it, which I understand. Hello, I am 26 years old. I have been married for almost 2 years now. I am a teacher and I love it! In college I loved working out, was always in shape and very skinny-around 124lbs for a good part of my life. For the past couple of years( basically since I started working) getting to the gym is realy hard and my weight keeps going up and up. I am now at 156. The most i've ever weighed! My husband and I have started talking about having kids, but I want to be in good shaoe when I get pregnant so the weight will come off easier. If I can't get myself motivated. I feel like I will stress and dwelll on my weight gain forever! HELP!

Hi there everyone! I'm Kat, I'm 24 soon to be 25 (eep) and after a pretty significant weight loss I got a little soft on myself and gained about 10lbs of that back. Right now I'm 5'7 and hovering around 160 lbs, which, considering I used to be more like 200 lbs isn't as bad as it could be. It isn't great either. So I'm getting back on track! No more being lazy and eating crappy stuff! I'm motivated as far as eating well is concerned, my biggest problem is getting back into being active. But I'm just going to have to force myself until I get back into the groove!

Hello, I'm Tatiana. I know how you feel. Before I starte college and dating my bf more than 2 yr's ago I was at my thinnest and in great shape. Now that I am happier than ever in love and working hard on school I have noticed 15 pounds creep on me. Now I am working to get it off and keep it off for myself more than anything. It is funny because my family has a saying in spanish that means that when a person in a relationship gains a little weight, then that means they are happy and being taken care of. Hello, my name is Tatiana. I am 20 years old and I am a full-time community college student working on my sophomore of school. I always played sports in middle school and high school and before I started college I couldn't remember a day that I weigh more than 100 pounds. I was at 118 until recently, I am now down to 113 but I am still not completely happy with my weight. I want to look and feel as active and slim as I was before starting college. I remember they warned me of the freshman 15 but I didn't think it would really happen to me. I've spent about an hour exploring it and can't wait to really get into using it! I graduated from college a little over a year ago, and was a D1 athlete. It has been a bit of an adjustment to go from 3 hour daily work outs to being responsible for doing all of my own diet and fitness management on my own. I'm currently 155 lbs and 5'4 and would love to get down to 135 by June in time for a big family reunion! Looking forward to having the daily support from this group to keep me motivated! Hey all :)

Joining Spark after I heard of it from a friend. Honestly, part of me wonders how long I will keep it up but I also know I have to make a change. I'm 161 lbs and 5'6" at 24 years old. I'm currently right at the top of the "average weight" range, but I know I should be practicing healthier habits for life. I also know I need to give myself a good kick in the butt. I am capabable of much more when it comes to physcial exercise, I just need to push myself.

My goal is to get down to 140, what I weighed my junior year in college. I think I can do this!

Hi everyone! I am going to start using SparkPeople for real--I've had an account for a while, but never got a chance to use it very well.

I'm 21. I'm 5'0"/5'1" (every half inch counts for me!) and I am ~130 lbs, so that's borderline overweight based on BMI. I gained weight progressively in high school and hit my highest after first year in university (frosh fifteen anyone?). Living on my own in second year helped me lose 10 pounds through cutting juice and pop. However, I've been at 130 lb for nearly two years now and I am ready for more change. My goal is to eventually be 110 lbs.

I'm glad to have found other twenty somethings with the same goals. I hope I can be successful in this journey!

Hey everyone, my name is Siera I am 22, 5'6", and 154lbs. I am on a personal mission to lose 22-24lbs. I have within the last 2 years, put on almost 15lbs. my energy levels have dropped and within the past few weeks my pants don't fit. I have been rotating between three different pairs of pairs, refusing to buy something larger.

This is more about feeling healthy and comfortable with myself again. I have a great job, wonderful family and friends, and most everything is going extremely well in my life. I feel as if my weight/health needs to match my outlooks and the rest of my lifestyle.

I used to run cross country and was accustomed to running no less than 4miles a day, however, my exercise habits have gone by the way side. I am excited to become a consistent exercis'er again, as well as monitor what I am putting into my body.

Time to train, tone, turn things around!
