Hello, Macsmomksl! Glad you are here!

My winter coat of 20 years wouldn't zip when winter came this year. The only times in the past that I couldn't get it to zip were the years I was pregnant. I was on SP years ago, but at the tail end of last December I came here for a fresh start.

I have 5 children. My oldest is a boy of 22 who moved out this fall when he left for grad school. The rest are girls (20, 18, 12, 10). The two oldest girls are away at college, while the younger two are here at home.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Hi!
I was hoping to get below 200 for the past 8 b-days! lol oy.
My birthday is Thursday...and believe me....I didn't reach that goal again.
But I have been CONSISTENT for about 16 months or so and have an actual reason to hope that maybe I'll actually hit it SOMETIME THIS YEAR.

My general starting weight back in 2009 was about 212, but in 2014 I had to go without my thyroid medication for about a year, and gained about 40 pounds. I thought THOSE would come off...considering them mere TEMPORARY pounds. Not so.
I think I started near 252 at the new doctor's office in June 2015 -and got my meds going again (I started working on Spark again that October, and was about 240-something.
I did GREAT in 2016, sticking to everything. Inches came off nicely and I gained several pounds in muscles, so the scale itself didn't come down in numbers as much as we would wish they did.
I go to doc on Tuesday and find out what HER scale says. I'm thinking I'm around 231ish, but we shall see. I had a TRAUMATIC moment in October when MY scale was EIGHTEEN POUNDS LESS than HER scale. So I purchased a new one, but refuse to record my weights from it, lol. I look forward to Tuesday so I can find out.

As far as Home schooling goes...
I have 9 kids, 5 boys, 4 girls and am teaching the youngest 5. The others have graduated; one is finishing up his last classes.

Be blessed on YOUR Spark Journey! I wish you success and CONSISTENCY and WISDOM!

And we all lived happily ever after...

Build up the Culture of Life!
We can change hearts, by bringing up the next generation to embrace Life at an early age.
If only moral people are willing to do that, mass abortion will end.

Hello all parent educators,
I've been using SparkPeople consistently since the beginning of the year. Also tried last year for a few months. Now more committed and motivated. Homeschooling my boys, ages 11 and 13. Hoping to lose 5lbs a month to reach 50 lbs lost by my 50th bday (1/6/18), but putting more hope in the Lord.
