I'm so glad you both are here, Carrie and Susan! I especially appreciate your input this last week or two, Susan. It's been very encouraging to me as the team leader. Both of you have fantastic testimonies of God's goodness in your lives. I heard (not really heard. . . the preacher was deaf and signed the whole sermon) a sermon this week on being like Caleb, resolving at 40 years old to "wholly" follow God. And 45 years later, he was able to say that he had done that. What an example! I'm glad to have your company in this journey!

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23

Hi Carrie!
Welcome! I, too, leave it up to the Lord for the number in my family. We have 9 living. We lost one (#10) through miscarriage at 9 weeks. We have graduated 1 son (now a U.S. Marine Reservist), and one daughter ( a Mother's Aid, and child care giver). Number 3 is working hard to graduate a year later than planned (because he's been helping to support the family with a full time job alongside his studies. (Dad is disabled with spinal stenosis). Number 4 is a new 18 year old and we are hoping to graduate him in the spring. Since he is already 18 I will not have to assess him in the spring, so actually all I have to homeschool this year is my 15 yr old son, 14 yr old daughter, 12 yr old son, 10 yr old daughter and 9 year old daughter. It should be easier this year...FINALLY. It's really strange to NOT have toddlers, babies and diaperbags, playpens, cribs and carseats. I encourage you to enjoy your stage of life, and I'll enjoy mine! :) I gained a lot of weight during my 13 years of bearing children; I didn't get out easily and found it hard and tiring to w/o . With a somewhat disabled husband we couldn't do the 'taking walks' thing so my pounds just kept adding up. Here's what I suggest for you if AT ALL possible. Take those kids for a walk or play actively in the yard with them, or put on the music once a day and dance away. Do not say you do not have time, because, here's the deal: The kids need the exercise, too and you can satisfy phys ed requirements at the exact same time!!! No guilt in goofing off with your kids!
Record your minutes of being active and wa-laa! You killed two birds with one stone. Thank you for all you do for your kids each day. You are such a blessing to this world. Keep on keeping on!

It's Worth Living.
It's Worth Giving.
Choose Life.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Hi! My name is Carrie.I live in Northeast Tennessee. I am 35 years old, child of God, wife, and mother of 3 amazing boys and 1 beautiful princess :) My husband also has a 27 year old boy and a boy who went to be with the Lord at the age of 20. My oldest was born at 27.5 weeks and has beaten all odds and the doctors claimed and grown up into a healthy now 17 year old. After many years of praying for more children, God brought an incredible man into my life who went through 2 surgeries to make that prayer come true! Our princess was born in 2011 and is the light of our lives. In 2013 at 23.5 weeks my water broke with our son and he was born at 24.4 weeks. He is our happy and polite little man who has a variety of special needs including SPD, Feeding aversion, currently undergoing tests to find out if its sensory or an underlying medical issue, and Chairi Malformation 1. He has been on a medical formula diet since February and a feeding tube is being discussed. Developmental delays are present but he pushes himself so hard to keep up with his "Sissy". This past June we were blessed with another sweet son who couldn't stop smiling if he tried :) Our 2 year old keeps us very busy but we will leave it up to God if there will be more tiny toes in the future.
I have been a member of Spark before but got busy in the good chaos of littles. I'm ready to get these 40 or so pounds off I have been wanting to for years! Its time! I am currently homeschooling an 11th grader and a Pre-K child. I look forward to the challenge and reward of adding at least two more into our homeschool routine in the upcoming years.
