I forgot to mention....here is where you can learn your curriculum options and match to your son's learning style.

Proverbs 3: 5-8 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. "

good luck ..I have an 8th grader and 4th grader I homeschool , my 17 yr old graduated from homeschool this past may and is now in his first semester of college emoticon the best thing that works for me is adapting my expectations to my kids learning styles and what interest them , my 4th grader loves nature and insects and animals so a lot of times she runs in the house grabs her glass jar and gets an insect or caterpillar that she just found and then we do an impromptu lesson ...each child is different so learn with them ... emoticon

Be sure you follow your state's laws to pull a child out to homeschool. You can find the laws at www.hslda.org/

Then, until you can gather curriculum, take him to the library to take out any literature, science, and history based books that interest him. He's going to need to De-school while you wait for curriculum. Time to learn who he is without all the peer pressure to conform to their group norm.

Is there a local support group from whom you could borrow curriculum?

Heidi

I am about to pull my son from public school. He is in 6th grade this year. I am already homeschooling my 5 year old for kindergarten due to sever allergy's. I have three boys all together (K, 6th, 7th). My oldest loves going to school. He is my 7th grader. My middle son is having what I would call a separation anxiety if there is such a thing I don't know. He is in the 6th grade. I won't go into details but I feel it's time to take action. I plan on taking him out early next week. I'm very nervous! Any good advise? We live in Illinois
