Welcome to the group Kelli. As it has been stated, if you can find a direct link to your states homeschool laws, your questions should be answered. Also, the site should have a link to homeschool groups in your state. If you can get a hold of them, they should be able to further assist you. Sometimes, private schools will have homeschool groups, and they might be able to answer any questions, and even welcome you to the process.

My little aid in keeping organized is a notebook, where I can plan out my week, and keep track of papers I grade. Without it, I would go crazy emoticon

I hope you find all your answers, and look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome to the group Kelli! I hope we can be of help. Melody already provided you with the first step I would follow for finding requirements for your state. I have no experience with homeschooling in WA. But I can try to do some searches tomorrow when I give myself some time.

Not to be rude But I will try to formulate a better response tomorrow after I have rested and done that search because I have had a long day today and I believe that school may be abbreviated in my household tomorrow :|

Here's a link that can assist with the laws/requirements in your state:

As for keeping fit, oh the sky is the limit, because now you have more flexibility to do anything and everything. Walking is still possible, but now you can do it after lunch instead of in the morning. You can do jump rope, play ball, hula hoops, hop scotch, dance, etc.

Oops! Sorry for my rudeness. I'm trying to get off the computer in a hurry and I forgot my manners.

Welcome to the group Kelli! Congratulations on homeschooling. I hope you are able to find a group near you. (check out the hslda site for a support group near you.) Hope to talk with you more later. =)

Hi, I'm Kelli! I just started homeschooling my 8 year old daughter this school year. Seemed so overwhelming at first, but everything is settling down and pulling together nicely now! Only thing I still worry about are keeping track of hours, and papers, and testing...when, where, how the testing is administered, are there fees for the testing??? Stressing out about all that! Google isn't always so easy to find what you're looking for! So any advice is very welcomed! I'd really like to find other homeschooling parents in WA State! Families that are further south in or around Vancouver, WA. We seem to be getting nothing but negative comments from many people in our community. We don't know many families that homeschool, and it would be nice to get friendly support and advice from other homeschoolers in our community! It would also be nice to find other christian children that are my daughter's age to have play dates with! Also, advice on how to eat and keep fit while staying at home! We used to walk to and from school everyday, but now we don't have to have to walk to school! I've started to gain back weight I had lost! Grrrr! How do you stay fit and find time for exercise while dealing with school work, house work, and the holidays?! Especially during this time of year when it gets dark so early! Hope to hear some great advice, and meet many new friends here!
