Hello, Angel! Welcome!

The lifestyle change that Sparkpeople promotes is a perfect fit for homeschooling moms. We live our lives with our kids and bring them right along on our journey to health and fitness. You have two young ones who will be influenced for a lifetime with the choices that you make today. Go for long walks together. Play on the playground with them. Bike together. Teach them about healthy cooking and let them help as much as they are able. (This pays off bigtime later, when they can take over most of the cooking!)

Don't fret that you will be stealing time from them. You will gain energy that will redeem the time for you!

Hi! My name's Angel. I'm 30 years old, I'm from Central New York, married to my soul mate, and have 2 awesome children a son who is 5 and a daughter who is 3. After I had my son I decided to be a SAHM (stay-at-home mom) and not only did I NOT lose the baby weight, but I actually gained more. Honestly, I would like to be thin again. I would like to give my husband back the woman he married, but mostly I really want my family to be healthy. I want to instill healthy habits in my children, so that it becomes natural and second nature to live a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully they will not only be healthy children, but healthy adults. As for my husband and I, we really want to be around to enjoy our grandchildren some day. We need to be healthy to achieve these goals, so here I am. :D
That's why I joined SP. I joined the homeschooling group, because this is my first year and I am exceptionally nervous. On top of the general anxiety I am a bit nervous as to whether my endeavors toward health and fitness (i.e. making time for exercise) may interfere some how with dedicating enough time and energy to my children's homeschooling needs. I thought I might gain insight from this group as to the unique challenges homeschooling brings to weight loss. Or a I could just be worried over nothing. At this point I look forward to getting to know everyone and seeing their perspectives. :)
(Sorry if this is a duplicate post I wasn't sure which spot to post in.)
