Welcome to the team and to homeschooling. As Robine said, you will be constantly learning every year you homeschool. It's challenging and a great blessing!

I just spent a week with my 26yo dd. We have the closest relationship and all of those years of homeschooling had a great part in that.

It is worth it!

emoticon Just remember that starting homeschooling isn't always smooth, even when you've been doing it for years and are only starting again after a break. That probably seems obvious, but it sometimes helpful to be reminded.

Welcome to the group. Once you get to know what's expected of you from the state, you adjust and do fine.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking around here for a while now, but I will just start homeschooling this year. I've wanted to for a while, but DH wasn't too sure about the idea. He still isn't, but he's letting my do it anyway. In order to ease his mind we are going through a charter school that pairs parents up with a certified teacher to help develop learning plans and pick curriculum. The teacher just checks in once a month after that to make sure you are doing stuff. I'm not excited about the paperwork that goes along with it, but I view it as a stepping stone to help my DH know that I am disciplined enough to make sure our kids are learning.

My DDs are 8 and 6 and will be in 3rd and 1st grades. They are excited about the opportunities that we will be able to do by homeschooling even though they will miss their friends. I can't say that I will miss the influence of some of their friends, though.

I look forward to participating more with this group and learning from more of you experienced homeschoolers.
