Welcome to our team.

Altho' Keto can be great for weight-loss, I wonder at what cost to the rest of our long-time health. A lot of people who love it are only focusing on the here and now, and not what it might mean for the long-term. I am a firm believer in most things in moderation.

My cholesterol levels were well out of whack at one stage. All apart from the good one were miles too high and the good one was miles too low. After losing about 50lb they started to come back reasonably normal, altho' I DO have to have Dietitian recommended Fish Oil to help my HDL Now after having reached my Dr's goal weight (my BMI is still just over 25) all my results are perfectly normal.

I USED to eat a very low fat diet. That is one thing I had to change. Apart from (at the time) 8g of Fish Oil, and I had increase the healthy fats as well to ensure that I got a reasonable amount of fat in my diet. Now since my results have normalized I have been able to drop the F/Oil down to 6, HOWEVER, I am NOT suggesting you take them (or any supplement) If you do, get the o.k. from the Dr first because there are some contraindications for them.

Welcome! Apparently some people have that problem with keto diets. Best to make the changes and see what happens. Just remember the other thing that changed is your age. We may think in designated age groups, but, in reality, our bodies change constantly. We need to be willing to adjust as we go along. Don't forget the omega 3s.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.--Socrates

After my recent physical and my blood work coming back great except my cholesterol level being like 267... I reset my SP goals and it put me in this group.

I feel as keto raised my cholesterol levels... because that's the only thing that changed between physicals. I lost weight don't get me wrong.. but obviously it's not for me.

So I'm back to doing the low fat low cholesterol thing... which is fine... I need to lose weight and get healthy.. and these test results definitely escalated my motivation.
