I've been eating ONLY fruits, veggies, legumes, oats, quinoa, brown rice, almonds, walnuts, pickles, chia & flax seed, garlic, salmon, black coffee, herbal tea. That's it. If I can keep this up for 3 months, I hope to bring the numbers down and stay off meds. I've never even seen the number 300 anywhere in the stories I've been reading. I am pretty freaked out.

Welcome! There's a lot of information here but you may have to dig a bit for it. There's even more online. I'm a great believer in oatmeal, apples, fish oil, and plant sterols as the best starting point. Of course a diet high in veggies and low in animal fats as well as consistent exercise helps.

New to the group (but not new to Spark). Found out this week that my cholesterol is 300! Doctor gave me 3 months to make a significant change or he's putting me on meds. I am so motivated!

I will be 72 in May. Ever since I retired in 2016 I have let myself go. Now I am ready to get healthy again. Need all the good vibes I can get.
