I am back to Sparkpeople too. I am now going to follow and join groups again as I need to remain focused.

Welcome back and I wish you much success. Being part of the community and having people to "chat" with is very helpful for me as well.

Hi - welcome back :-)

I have some issues which curtain to a degree what I can do, and exercise is one of them re spine issues (arthritis and scoliosis) - I also suffer from fatigue as the result of a head injuring a few years ago, so I have to pace myself very carefully and there is a lot that is ill-advised for me. I am an insomniac with Obstructive Sleep Apnea so need to use a CPAP machine when I am asleep. I am a widow ... since Dec. 14th, 2012, so I am on my own.

The one thing that has helped me is to weigh all of my food for increased accuracy and enter everything into the Nutrition Tracker. That takes care of weight, plus it gives me something to do LOL! I have been maintaining for a number of years, and am determined I am not going to regain it, so I STILL use the Nutrition Tracker daily.

Good luck with your journey - I hope that you reach your goals.
Kris

First of all, let me tell you that I know this program works. I've done it successfully before. However, several life changing injuries and surgeries mean that I can't approach taking care of myself the way I used to. I'm no longer able to cardio dance, walk for more than 6 blocks, or play. And I have been grieving that. I have been ANGRY about that. But, I'm also thankful to even be alive..... Today, I've realized I just have to deal with the new me, find ways to get my blood sugars under control, definitely not GAIN weight, and I plan on losing some slowly but surely. I remember that entering things in here helped me realize small accomplishments. And other people celebrated with me. I'm all by myself, and I have to take care of myself. Its no one else's responsibility. But in this community, I remember not feeling so alone. So, I'm back......
