Be patient with yourself in making changes. Rome wasn't built in a day nor will you be able to improve your health overnight. I would also complete your Spark Page so we can learn more about you when offering suggestions. emoticon

Welcome. I sure losing some weight will lessen your health problems at least a little. There are many gentle exercises you can do and if you find that some of those in a routine are too hard you can sit those out or do a gentler version. Or just find exercises that work for you and put them together into a routine. Just lifting your arms up at different angles or sitting in a kitchen chair kicking your legs up and down is exercising. There are many gentle back exercises on line that help ease back pain. I do a simple routine for my back that I found on the Mayo clinic site and it's really helping me. You don't have to get down on the floor, either. You can lie on your bed and slide your feet up and down, back and forth, etc. But eating healthy is the most important thing. Maybe try a food based Challenge and decide on some small changes in your diet you and start with. Take your time finding out what works for you and you'll get there.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.--Socrates

You need to make an appointment with your Dr and talk to him/her about this. You would benefit from asking to be referred to a Registered Dietitian who will be able to help you, taking into account your personal health issues.

Most of weight-loss comes down to nutrition, not exercise. There MAY, however, be some form of gentle chair exercise that you MAY be able to do in, say, 5 minute snatches, but be guided by your Dr.

Good luck,
Kris

I am new and would appreciate any advice you can give me. I have a bad back and legs and on oxygen so it is hard to exercise
I have quite a bit to lose and I am hoping it will help my other problems if I can stick to this
