Welcome, David. Glad to have you on the team. I have a mutated gene that makes me prone to blood clots but doesn't cause blood clots and an auto-immune gene so I guess there are a lot of us "different" people out there. I have never heard of anyone having cholesterol levels anywhere near that high. Does your doctor feel that the high serum cholesterol is clogging your arteries? I take it your body gets the cholesterol it needs to operate even though so much of your intake goes into your blood stream. Are you ok to lower you fat intake with health consequences? Just ignore me if I'm being too inquisitive.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.--Socrates

Name is David and I am finally getting around to posting and working on my sparks page. I have had a lot going on So sorry. I am 44 years old with two grown daughters ages 20 and 18. I have been married for 22 years.

I joined here because I need to get my life together. I have type 2 diabetes, and a genetic abnormality where I do not have the gene to regulate fat intake. So I gain a little extra weight
but all fat is dumped in my blood and so my cholesterol averages 700 to 1000 and my triglycerides 8000 to 13000 where they sold be 150 or less. I am 6 foot 1 inch and weight 218 pounds. My doctors say if I was normal i would be morbidly obese but I do not store much fat.

I really need help and knowledge to finally get to doing better or I will not live to see any grand kids most likely.
