Paula everyone is concerned about you !! If you can afford it I would suggest that you buy the following books. The Senior Guide to Metabolism, The Complete Sugar Control Strategy Guide I have both and refer to both from time to time when I get off track. These can be found at FC&A PUBLISHING.COM/SENIOR there are other's you might find of interest I have a number of their book's and have been satisfied with everyone!!!

Paula, when we are parents, we don't just worry about ourselves but mostly about our children. Maybe this scare was a way of telling you to take care of yourself so you'll be around for your children. Be the (good) example for them. Start with tracking your food and working on having fitness. I began with 10 minutes a day and until I had ankle surgery I was doing much more. Make small goals. "I will eat a fruit today", "I will do a 10 minutes fitness video" or "I will drink a glass of water before meals". It may not seem like much but every time you can reach a small goal it makes you realize that more is possible. Your friend Linda

emoticon Too much heat and sun can affect anyone. An event such as you experienced is a alert to get to your doctor at once. He can evaluate your situation. In general, we should all drink plenty of water and avoid overheating. Good luck and happy sparking.

As long as it is not a medical issue you will be fine. You don't need to correct anything because everyone will see your response on the computer screen. I'm glad it wasn't anything serious, I want to say Welcome!! If you look to the middle of the start page you will see an article for new comer's. Watch and or read the message it will explain a lot of how the website work's. emoticon .

Start slow - drink your water EVERY DAY.
Consult with your doctor on how to proceed with your diabetic diet...and exercise.

Paula: Ouch. Sounds like you need to make sure you know what the problem was, especially before you launch into an exercise program. What did the hospital say happened?

if you went to the E.R. they must have drawn some conclusion and recommended that you see your personal doctor to follow up.

You should really get to your doctor and see if he/she can figure it out.
Could be dehydration, diabetes...any number of things.

We would love to help but we need a little more information on your health and habits.

Welcome to the team..

Hello. I am new to this and really need a friend to helpguide me. I have gotten to the point of fearing for my life after this past weekends events. We went to an all day concert outside in the full sun in Fort Myers Florida. I was with my two girls that have been to a concert before and 3 hours into it I pvassed out. I was taken by golfcart to a medic tent and then on to the hospital by ambulance. I had to leave my children behind to find for themselves. They are adults so they could not go with me. Now it leaves me scared to death of how much worse could this have been and what would we do. So now anyone out there who understands what I'm going through please HELP. The doctors said it was heat exhaustion and dehydration.
