Don't worry. Combining arms, hips, chest, and steps is called layering. It just takes some practice. There will always be a new combination of moves that will make you feel uncoordinated until you have practiced them for a while. I have been belly dancing for years and I always find new ways of layering moves that challenge me. That is why belly dancing never gets boring. Keep up the great work. You are not uncoordinated. You are simply learning a new combination.

Patience. Balance. Moderation.

Hi all. I actually had my first belly dancing class tonight. I loved it but I feel kind of awkward and have a bit of trouble combining arms and hips. I'm hoping it gets better. I dance for 13 years, from k-12. but I haven't really danced since then...hope I get my coordination back!! :)
