Oh my, someone asked me about my chooks - prepare for a 10 page description! I have about 150 but the number goes up and down a bit. Basically there are two types - Araucanas which lay blue eggs. They are our specialty which we breed. And the other lot are mixed big barnyard layers - Rhode Island Red, Barnevelders, Marans, Australorp, Plymoth Rock - anything we have picked up and added - they end up cross breeding after a generation or two as they all live together. There are a couple of other little bantams that live in the backyard. We hatch some for ourselves and to sell.
What kind do you want when you can have some. It's addictive!
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
