So glad to see you here. Welcome and let us know if you need anything!

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since. Had a baby at the end of April 2016 and am working to get back to my pre baby form, or at least as close to it as I realistically can!

I just joined at the suggestion of TinaJane76. I am not quite at goal, I have 9 more pounds to go, but I have been losing weight over the last 3.5 years and hope to reach my goal weight by mid November. Weight loss has definitely slowed down and I usually only lose about 3 pounds a month now. I have been on SP for just over a year and lost 65 pounds din that time. Looking forward to getting to know you all. emoticon

Welcome!

@ ZUCCHINIQUEEN
Your entry in the Maintenance Anniversaries is over a year old. Everyone needs to update once a year so we can stay current. I've tried contacting you via Spark Mail and it must not have been working. Maybe I can reach you this way.

Here is the link for updating your entry (just make a new entry and I'll take out the old one)
docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform
?f
ormkey=dC1oVGRkVTA0bUNTZk5zTGtzeHZGRR>mc6MQ#gid=0

Thanks!

And thanks for reminding us that we need to stay on track even after 9 years of maintenance. Few studies track people beyond 5 years, but the ones that do say our chances of regain never go below 20% or so, after 15-20 years.

Hello! I'm joining because of Nell's recent blog. I have been maintaining for 9 years. Recently finding it a little more difficult to stay focused. I know from heart tests that my metabolism has slowed down. My appetite did not slow down with it, however. Probably most of my problem is in my head. I cannot use the metabolism as an excuse. I never want to gain the weight back, so I need to get my thoughts arranged in the right direction.

Welcome, Phebess and Mrs. Carly... it's so great to see new people embracing the idea of maintaining / transition to maintenance BEFORE reaching a number on the scale. Because the mindset is something to be encouraged and embraced.

Congratulations on your journeys so far. What I've seen several times here is that people come in thinking they are going to maintain, and find they continue to lose for a while before their bodies settle in at a "home range" a little lower than originally anticipated. That happened to me, but the most important lesson was learning what it means to me to maintain (even the experts don't agree on what that means).

So the more the merrier, and may we have many years of healthy living ahead!

Hi everyone! I joined because my friend Watermellen has been recommending/suggesting this team.

I'm not at goal, but I've lost 40-45 lbs and maintained that loss for about 4 years. I'd like to lose another 30-40 lbs, but life has been in major transition - now that I'm retired and we're taking off travelling, it will still be in transition but at least I'll be getting a bunch more cardio!

Hi all! I feel pretty darn good at maintaining. I maintained a 60 pound weight loss for 5 years, broke up with a crazy boyfriend, moved to a new state where I knew no one and didn't have a job, and gained 25 pounds! Since that 25 pound gain, I lost it within a few months and have maintained that weight loss for the past few years. I am SO good at maintaining that I have yet to reach my ultimate weight loss goal. In the past year it has started up again because:

Found out about several food allergies/intolerances

and that I'm hypothyroid

That has helped with a LOT of health issues that I was dealing with over the years. I'm hoping that over the next 6 months I can reach goal weight and MAINTAIN FOR GOOD!!!

Welcome to the team! What you do once you get there, is pretty much the same as what you do *to* get there. You find the comfortable level of caloric intake / expenditure that balances "staying here". Gradually. And you adjust to your new size, beyond the excitement of getting here.

This is a great place to hang out and find the tips to keep on keeping on after your body has decided it is "home".

I just joined after reading a pal's blog. I am 2 1/2 pounds from my current goal and 7 1/2 pounds from my "final" goal (subject to revision. What if I decide to lose another few pounds?) and am having trouble getting there. Part of the issue for me is that I don't know what to do once I get there, so this team will be great.

Welcome, Logould! You can "maintain" your way to where your body is happiest, and this is a great team to give you the tips to stay in that happy place. Welcome to the rest of your life, and life is good! emoticon

Hi, I'm new to this team. Lost 45 lbs with Spark, then after running mysecond half-marathon last year, fell and broke my wrist this past winter and I haven't been able to get the "old" Spark back fully. I am getting back on track, but I want this to be my new lifestyle and not just another phase, so this team is perfect. Hoping you will all keep me accountable to getting back to goal and STAYING THERE!

Hi and welcome to the team! I've just become a new leader and we're working on ways that we can help offer more resources and support to all of our maintainers (I'll be sending a message with more about this to the team tomorrow). Have a look around our threads and please let me know if you have any specific questions. There's lots of great information here about strategies our maintainers use to stay at goal and what they do when they start to backslide. The 'Maintenance Strategies' thread might be of particular interest to you as you begin maintenance. You can find it here:

Again, please let me know if you ever need anything or have any questions!

Hi I just joined this team. I read about it in a blog that was suggested to me by someone else. I feel that with some well planned effort on my part I will be back at my maintenance weight in a few months. I want to learn what to do once I am at my goal weight. This team was praised for being friendly and supportive. I really could use all of your advice and knowledge. I look forward to getting to know everyone and in putting myself first again..
My downside is I have a high stress job that requires very little cardio burn, but my legs and arms need to be strong. I care for a elderly lady that needs me to transfer her completly several times a day. I have pulled a muscle in my stomach and that stopped me from exerciseing for a while and I never got back to it.. Well nows the time.. no more putting ME off ... I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and are right on track ... emoticon
