Thank you for all the comments! I felt pretty lame when I got home and really had no idea how to proceed. We found that hand feeding Cooper his dinner as he stands in the soak works very well. We are halfway through and he seems normal already.

I soak Belle's feet in epsom salt & rinse well with clear warm water after. She's never had a problem.

After the epsom salt soak I would rinse and then pat his feet dry. Don't hesitate to check with the vet if you need clarification.

Hi Rose. I decided to look Epsom Salt Bath up, and came across this.

sorry, don't know anything about an epsom salt bath for a dogs feet.....I have always used oatmeal rinse and it is okay if the dog licks it.

I've never done an epson salt bath on a dog, but on people some people don't like the salt drying on their skin and rinse it off and it's ok. I always dried my feet and that wipes most of the salt off, d=so don't see the differance

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

Hi there! I'm back to SP after a long time away. Until I get back in the groove I intend to spend most of my time tracking so I haven't posted much.
I do have a question I hoped dog lovers might help me with. I took my little guy to the vet who told me his itchy feet were probably the result of allergies. She gave me medication and suggested a daily epsom salt soak for his feet. We just finished the first one and he is doing his best to lick his feet clean. Should I have rinsed them off in clear water?
