Thank you for your suggestions. There is no advice for people who need to gain weight. I do eat the items you mentioned. Maybe it is the amount eaten and lack of activity that is the key. The usual size meal one gets in a restaurant is way too much for the normal person today (we are no longer farmers and lumberjacks, etc.). Such a meal lasts me for 3 dinners. I eat until no longer hungry, not until full. Given all of this, I guess there is no hope for gaining weight. However, I am "filling out" with muscle due to ballet, jazz, Pilates, Yoga, dance conditioning, etc. and having great fun with it all.

if you want to gain, do exactly what they do in the commercial food industry: feed yourself carbs. For most of us, that's how we got here. They lock cattle up in pens and feed them corn and hi-carb grains. I'm not convinced that's a good dietary scheme...but if you're hoping to gain, that should do the trick! Sugar is pretty bad for us, too, but that's another of the items which has contributed to the typical American physique.

It feels so strange to be mentioning these things in a promotional light! ack!!

I have just joined at the urging of my cross training coach. I am trying very hard to gain at least 5 pounds - so far without success. I force myself to eat every two hours or so (what a drag) but that has not helped at all. It is impossible to find information on how to gain weight. I eat both healthfully and unhealthfully in the frustrating effort to gain weight. I am a dance teacher (specialty ballet) and love to dance and "exercise." I do it all - from free weights to outdoor fitness to dance conditioning and everything else. How in the world do people get overweight? My doctor says that I am healthy and look OK but I see people with some weight on them and they look better than I do. Help!

i have not gained a pound in over a year.

i gave up sugar and grain products and lost 44 pounds at age 61.

my sister lost 105 pounds at age 63 by walking 15000 steps a day and has not gained a pound back either in over a year
