my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

Welcome to the Team! When I first got into the program, I looked at my pantry and learned how unhealthily it was stocked. Booby-trapped with carbs, sodium and fat! I'd suggest looking at your "treat" cabinet and cleaning it out. Give it to friends, donate it, have a party and use it all up! Then replace with healthier snack substitutes.

It doesn't happen overnight, but you'll be surprised how quickly your outlook changes when you consciously think about what, and when, you're eating.

Life is a Journey, not a Destination. Plan the trip wisely!

Welcome! There are some great articles on strategies for planning your meals and snacks as well as good snack ideas and great recipes. My favorite tools on this site are the nutrition and fitness trackers. If you have any questions and can't find the answer all you have to do is ask. The message boards are great for getting to know others with similar goals and concerns. emoticon

Hi! I am new to this site, hoping to change my habits...I am 51 and have been retired almost a year. I have gained a lot of weight since retirement, (adding to my already overweight self), as well as becoming much more inactive. I feel that if I do not do something now, I will pass some point of no return! I really need to be able to chase my grandkids around as I am now their daycare provider. Any pointers for curbing the carb/sugar crave in the afternoon and evenings are welcome!!
