This was just the leadership team getting together to make a plan. We figured out when we were going to meet and some activities we want to look into. We are going to ask the girls what they want to do this year. I know MY Brownie wants to work on the Water Journey. It's hard to plan when we really don't know much about the new program. We do know we want to do a sleep-over at the science museum, camp more than once, do more outside activities & tour the grocery store & local candy maker.

I'm impressed -- 4 kids and 10 Brownies is quite a load!

It wasn't until I was posting here that I realized how directly my fitness plans and what I want to do with Girl Scouts again are connected. It's really good for me to have a specific goal -- to be fit enough to get my Lifeguarding certification (and others) back next Spring - to keep me motivated.

I saw on the Team Huddle Wall that you had your first planning meeting. Was that just parents or were the girls involved, too? What will you be doing this Fall? Big plans?

Welcome!!! I have to admit that mine don't tie in directly, but alot of my motivation is being able to keep up with my 4 kids and that also works for keeping up with our 10 Brownies!

Greetings, all!

Iím new to the team and thought Iíd say Ďhií and introduce myself.

Iím a Trainer who has been a troop leader in the past (Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes). I was a G.S. as a girl and worked G.S. summer camp when I was college aged. A few years ago, I even filled in at the Council office for a few months as a Volunteer Development Manager while the permanent staff member was on family leave, so Iíve had a fairly varied G.S. experience.

The last two years or so I havenít been very active, but Iím moving and Iíve already been in contact with my new Council and Iím looking forward to this Fall.

My fitness goals actually tie in to Girl Scouting. I used to be an American Red Cross Lifeguard and Lifeguard Training Instructor, as well as a Water Safety Instructor (swim instructor). In addition, I was also certified to teach canoeing and sailing. I want to be in good enough shape to get my certifications back and use them to help troops be more active and to spend more time outside. I really miss being more active.

Does Girl Scouting have a place in anyone elseís fitness goals?
