What a great tip! Milk for dessert...cool, refreshing, healthy! Thanks for the welcome and the tip!

Hi and welcome to the team! Girl Scouts do have much in common, and SparkPeople is a great place for helping you to reach your goals and lose the weight you want.

I drink my milk for dessert, so when I want something late at night, I get a tall cold glass of milk, and it's really refreshing and very filling. Takes away the need to eat that something sweet.

No advice there, I have the same problem. If I want to get all my water in, I can't drink anything else.

Great advise Carrollkr. That is exactly what I keep tellingmyself. Its nice to have it reaffirmed by someone else! So far, i have been able to drink the 8 glasses of water. Somedays even more! The hard part is incorporating other liquids (orange juice, milk). Any guidance there?

Thanks for the welcome Mandykayee! I agree completely... it has been my experience that girl scout leaders/volunteers have a LOT in common. Thanks for calling me a super leader, but its really the girls that keep me at it..they are the super stars!

Start with just a few small goals-drink 8 glasses water, add strengtb training, take vitamins, eat fiber, etc. Don't try to change all your habits right now. Do a couple for two weeks. Add one more, add two more. Otherwise it can be too overwhelming. Holler if you have questions about the site.

Welcome to the team. It's my favorite part about Sparkpeople. I joined a few teams when I first started, but this is the only one I read and post to daily - you really get to feel like you know the folks here - and we all seem to have a lot in common. I am a leader for my daughter's troop - now 7th and 8th grade Cadettes. I was SUM for the last 3 years, but just stepped down. Hoping that gives me more free time to focus on my troop. Don't know how you do 3 troops - you are super leader. Way to go.

One day at a time . . .

Welcome to the teams. I personally feel that being a member of a couple teams that you really enjoy helps. If it weren't for my teams I would have left a few times by now, instead I keep trying.

Hello all! Im a new sparkperson...I stumbled onto this site a few days ago and am still syumbling around, learning my way about it. I saw the Girl Scout Emblem and thought ...now there's a group for me. I am a troop leader for my neice's Cadettes/Seniors and asst. leader for my daughters Cadette Troop and will be troop leader for my youngest daughter's Daisy troop this fall. I am also our neighborhood's treasurer. So...I LOVE Girl Scouts! Anywho.. about me...I am 39 (will turn the big 40 this month ...in 17 days actually), married to a GREAT man, mother to 3 FANTASTIC children, and about 108 pounds overweight. Turning 40 and realizing that my youngest has yet to see her mommy be very enegetic has opened my eyes. She deserves to have the fun loving mommy I know I am under all this FAT! So I am really hoping that SparkPeople will work for me.

I'm learning to take small steps toward a large reward.
